Welcome to Meditative Nest, the incubator for Meditativeness. My name is Raakesh Blokhra, I am a singer-songwriter, musician, software engineer, and entrepreneur. In my spiritual journey, meditation has helped me become aware of the purpose of life, and insights, and gain control over my mind, and body. I am a Vipassana meditator and a Reiki Master, and I have completed Sadhguru's Inner Engineering program. With over 2 decades of meditation experience, I often come across people who show interest in my spiritual journey, and also tell me about the challenges they face while trying to get started with their meditation. Through this podcast, I intend to provide the fundamental information that will help anyone get started without any effort. I have helped a few people by sharing my knowledge, guiding them with their first steps, and giving them a good understanding of the process. Once I realized the value of my guidance, I decided to start this podcast for beginners who want to get started with meditation and then if they wish, they can go ahead on their journey to advanced meditation programs that are offered by many organizations out there. I am sure you will find some valuable information in these videos, please try to listen to these undistracted, so you can absorb the information being shared.     • Dangers of meditation - Your mind will trick you

      We have covered how to meditate so far, but it is important for you to understand the game of the mind, it will try to trick you into believing something that's not true. For example, when you sit down to meditate, you guide your awareness to your breath, but your mind takes that awareness into a thought that you are experiencing something totally different, it can be something as a feeling of blissfulness, feeling that your energy is raising in your body, feeling of levitating, feeling of flying in the sky, or something else, but it will take your awareness away from your breath. You will need to overcome that challenge by keeping your awareness on your breath instead of getting carried away. In this episode, I touch up on that and share the names of some asanas you can try to sit in a deeper meditation. Enjoy

      In this episode, we leap the first steps of meditation. Instead of talking about how to sit, and discuss various aasanas, I talk about going straight into meditation by using your breath as the object of meditation. We use the breath in this episode because breath is considered the bridge between consciousness and unconsciousness. This will be a great episode for anyone trying to learn how to meditate, but unable to get started because I have shared step-by-step instructions on how to get started.
