    Judith Ravina has 18 years of experience in bilingual education, and she began as a first-grade bilingual teacher. She later served as a dual language instructional coach, guiding and supporting colleagues. Judy balances theory and practice, consistently promoting the needs of multilingual learners.

    Judy led the expansion of the dual language program in the Mamaroneck School District, establishing a model program in Westchester County, New York. She works with educators and administrators, modeling a collaborative approach that increases student learning. Judy concentrates on equity, achievement, improvement, cultural proficiency, and community participation.

    Judy received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Hofstra University. She holds a master’s degree in teaching from Queens College. Judy earned a second master’s degree in administration and supervision from Fordham University.

    Dr. Concie Pedroza began her career in education as a multilingual, newcomer, and intermediate teacher in Seattle, Washington. She has served as an elementary, K-8, and high school principal in the Everett and Seattle school districts in the state of Washington. Concie also served as a principal coach, director of leadership for equity, and chief of student services.

    Concie has presented both nationally and locally on topics ranging from equity to supporting culturally responsive initiatives. She received three consecutive School of Distinction awards from 2010 to 2013. Concie earned a bachelor’s degree in English as a second language and elementary education; a master’s degree in educational leadership and policy studies; and a doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Washington.

    Dr. Daisy Torres-Hill co-designed the Dual Language Academy at Dwight Bellizzi, and under her leadership, more than 800 Hartford students earned the Seal of Biliteracy, recognizing and honoring their bilingualism and biliteracy. In addition, she co-developed the Hartford Principal Leadership Academy (HPLA) and the Hartford Assistant Principal Leadership Academy (HAPLA), both “grow-your-own” programs designed to cultivate and retain leadership talent within the school district. Daisy also spearheaded the recruitment and retention of teachers from Puerto Rico through the innovative Paso a Paso teacher recruitment program.

    Daisy received bachelor’s degrees in elementary education and Spanish, as well as a master’s degree in TESOL and bilingual education from Southern Connecticut State University. She earned a doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Connecticut. Daisy is a member of the Connecticut Association of Bilingual and Biliteracy Education (CABBE), the Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents (ALAS), and the Connecticut Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents (CALAS).
