Did you know that 11% of households in the KFL&A region live with food insecurity, meaning they cannot afford to buy the food they want and need for good health? Or that 16.1% of households in Ontario, over 2 million people, were food insecure in 2021? Hosted by Christena Lawrie and Chancelor Maracle this three-part special docu-series for CFRC 101.9fm aims to shed light on the issue of food insecurity here in Kingston, Ontario. In our first segment, we feature interviews with some local experts to get a picture of what exactly food insecurity looks like and how it’s impacting our community.
