Regan W. H. Macaulay is a multi-award-winning author of novels, short stories, children’s literature, and scripts. Writing is her passion, but she’s also a producer and director of theatre, film, and television (Triple Take Productions). She is an animal enthusiast as well, which led her to become a Certified Canine and Feline Massage Therapist (Kurī K9 Massage). Each adventure portrays unique characters and weaves in teachable moments. Regan hails from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, where she lives with her husband Kevin, Chihuahua Raxl, Siamese cat Jacobi (aka Jack), and an assortment of amphibians, fish, mollusks, and crustaceans.Tamara Botting is a writer who lives in Ontario, Canada. In a lot of ways, she's like a house cat, in that she likes to play with yarn, take naps, and drink too much coffee (OK, it's not a perfect comparison). Tamara has been a professional writer for around 20 years, working as a community journalist, freelance writer, editor, communications coordinator, and author. In that time, she's won a number of awards (provincial, national and one international) for her writings and photography. Her first book, Unfrogged, was published in 2017, the same year as Canada's sesquicentennial. Since then, she's added three more to the roster (Pants, Big Bother Brother, and Spoiled Rotten), and her fifth book, Super Slippy Slidey Socks, will be the next one to hit the shelves. • 85. Beware the Wendigo w/ Alex Tilley (author of Meshkwadoon Book 1)
    Jun 4 2026

Alex Tilley writes fiction that wanders the borderlands between folk horror, magical realism, dark fantasy, and the psychological. His books include Meshkwadoon Books 1 and 2, the novella Mr. Strong, and the forthcoming Sefira’s Gloom. Before self-publishing, he spent years devouring everything from The Lord of the Rings to Shakespeare, Anne Rice, poetry, and Jane Austen. He was in the Canadian Armed Forces for five years, where he earned a humanities degree while working full-time in his trade. He wrote as a hobby when he was in my teens, but the belief that he could write a full book didn't come to him until 2019. When he’s not writing, he’s usually buried in research on mythology, religion, occult traditions, and the supernatural.

Today we are mostly discussing Meskkwadoon, Book 1, which I had the opportunity to read in audiobook, available on Audible.

Spoiler discussion begins at timestamp 1:05:45
