À propos de ce contenu audio

For more than two decades, 15 PSI has been treated as a key safety threshold for injection pressure during peripheral nerve blocks, but the evidence suggests it is more complicated than a single number. In this episode, we discuss a 2026 Journal of Clinical Anesthesia systematic review by De Cassai and colleagues, which analyzed 28 experimental studies on injection pressure and nerve injury. We look at how tissue compliance, needle design, and injection speed influence pressure readings, why opening injection pressure matters more than peak pressure, and whether pressure-time curves could shape the future of injection safety.
