The DVR loop that hid his exit cost Roy his life
In this episode, we follow the disappearance of Roy Becker from the Harlan Packing Co. parking lot on April 9, 2019, and the investigation that pivots on a deliberately looped security feed and a prior written complaint. What decisions, access logs, and small physical traces pointed investigators toward a planned interference with the footage?
Person: Roy Becker
Date: April 9, 2019
Location: Harlan Packing Co., Sallow Creek / Dellwood, Indiana
Event: security DVR footage looped between 11:52 PM and 12:30 AM
Person: Kenneth Graham
- Roy clocked out at 11:40 PM, was last confirmed on the plant’s rear service corridor before vanishing.
- Roy filed a written complaint on April 3 naming contractor Kenneth Graham for an unsecured sealed equipment panel.
- The DVR rear corridor camera showed a seamless 38-minute loop starting at 11:52 PM, set manually from the DVR server cabinet.
- Service-door access logs showed Kenneth Graham entered the rear service door 11 times in six weeks, nine without work orders and two after midnight.
- Roy’s badge was found clipped to his collar but dry, inconsistent with being submerged where his body was recovered downstream.
