    Good evening. Alaska. I'm Aaron Jolly. That bitter chill you're feeling? It's the real deal. The Interior bottomed out at minus 31 degrees overnight. Wind chills plunged to minus 47 around 5 A.M. That's the kind of cold that bites through any jacket in seconds. Fairbanks climbs all the way to 1 degrees this afternoon under sunny skies. A remarkable 32-degree swing from dawn to mid-afternoon. In the next 24 hours. Down in Southcentral, it's cold but more manageable. Anchorage sits at minus 5 degrees early this morning. You'll reach 17 degrees by late afternoon. Snow moves in after 9 A.M. — just a chance, nothing heavy yet. Southeast Alaska? A completely different world. Juneau hovers near 27 degrees with snow showers overnight. Temperatures surge to 40 degrees today. Rain takes over by afternoon. That's nearly three-quarters of an inch of rainfall possible. Tonight's full moon will shine bright over the Interior. But clouds will spoil the view elsewhere. Heads up for the Alaska Peninsula. A Blizzard Warning kicks in at 3 P.M. Thursday. Four to twelve inches of snow. Winds gusting to 50 miles an hour. Whiteout conditions expected from King Cove to Sand Point. Looking ahead. Friday brings the next storm system. Snow spreads across the Interior and Southcentral. Fairbanks could see one to three inches. Anchorage looks for one to two inches. Then another shot of arctic air plunges temperatures back down. Highs barely reach zero early next week.     Good morning. Alaska. I'm Aaron Jolly. Step outside and the cold hits you like a physical wall. Interior Alaska wakes up to dangerous conditions. Actual temperatures sit at minus 29. But factor in the wind? It feels like minus 45. That's the kind of cold where breathing actually hurts. You'll want to Dress warmly in layers if you're heading out early. In the next 24 hours. Down in Southeast, a completely different story unfolds. Snow is falling hard. Juneau and the northern panhandle could see 3 to 7 inches through the day. A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until noon. Travel will be difficult this morning. But tonight, that snow transitions to a rain-snow mix as temperatures climb into the mid-30s. Southcentral sees some sun today with a high near 11 degrees. But around 7 A.M., wind chills dip to minus 25. The afternoon brings relief as temperatures climb. Tonight drops to minus 4 under mostly clear skies. Here's your heads-up for the week ahead. The pattern shifts late Thursday. Southcentral sees a chance of snow by afternoon. A Winter Storm Watch is posted for the Eastern Alaska Range. Seven to 15 inches of snow possible from Thursday night through Saturday. Friday looks wet across Southeast with rain and highs in the low 40s. The Interior sees snow chances returning Friday into the weekend. We're gaining nearly 6 minutes of daylight today.     Good morning. Alaska. I'm Aaron Jolly. That crisp air you're feeling this morning? That's high pressure parked overhead, locking in some serious cold. We're looking at clear skies across much of the state. but Southeast Alaska tells a completely different story. In the next 24 hours. Let's start in Southcentral. Overnight lows bottomed out at minus 10. You'll climb to 10 degrees this afternoon under sunny skies. Tonight drops back to minus 9. and tomorrow looks nearly identical with a high of 9 degrees. Head north to the Interior and it's a different world. We're talking minus 38 this morning. Some valley locations are seeing temperatures in the minus 40s and even minus 50s. You'll recover to minus 8 by mid-afternoon. Patchy freezing fog could develop before 3 P.M. Tonight? Back down to minus 30, with wind chills approaching minus 38 degrees. Now Southeast Alaska. That's where the action is. An arctic boundary draped over the panhandle is combining with Gulf moisture to bring snow. We're seeing snow overnight with a 78 percent chance peaking around 3 A.M. Expect 1 to 3 inches tonight, then another 4 to 8 inches Tuesday into Tuesday night. A Winter Storm Watch is in effect from late Monday night through Tuesday for the Juneau area and Glacier Bay. Here's your five-day outlook. Cold and dry for Southcentral and the Interior through Wednesday. A slight warming trend begins midweek. By Thursday into Friday, a system brings a chance of snow to Southcentral. Southeast stays active all week with multiple rounds of precipitation. Temperatures there gradually warm, with rain mixing in by Thursday. We're gaining nearly 6 minutes of daylight today. Spring equinox is about 18 days away. Hang in there.
