  • Episode 19 (Fitness, Poop, AI is taking over)
    Jan 19 2026

    Send us a text

On this episode of the Hot Ashes Podcast, Lee, TK, Solange, and Cody light up cigars, crack some high‑octane beers, and dive into a wildly mixed bag of real‑life topics. From Half Ironman training, marathons, macros, and intermittent fasting to anxiety poops, river “Groovers,” and Leave No Trace ethics, nothing is off limits.

They also clash over modern country vs. classics, Taylor Swift, celebrity influence, and whether AI is a powerful tool or a creative cheat code—then let ChatGPT ruthlessly roast them all.

It’s equal parts fitness talk, bathroom confessions, music/media rants, and AI therapy session—raw, funny, and way too relatable.

We’re kicking off 2026 in the lounge talking more than just cigars. In this episode of the Hot Ashes Podcast, Lee, TK, Solo, and Roger dive into Dry January, realistic New Year’s resolutions, and why getting uncomfortable might be the only way to actually change.

    We get into:

    • Dry January, weight gain, and the “just one drink” negotiation
    • How to build real habits using ideas from Atomic Habits (start small, set up your environment, habit stacking)
    • Gym anxiety, stretching, accountability bets, and why comfort might be ruining us
    • Gratitude as a daily practice and simple ways to track it
    • Motivation, discipline, and a wild med-school origin story from a brutal physics professor

If you’re thinking about getting healthier, building better routines, or just crawling out of your comfort zone this year, this one’s for you.

  • Episode 17 (Board Games, Bourbon & Bad Decisions- Holiday Episode)
    Jan 5 2026

    Send us a text

The Hot Ashes crew is back in the lounge for a laid‑back, post‑Christmas hang. After the usual rundown of what everyone’s drinking and smoking, the conversation wanders through holiday chaos, shop shenanigans, and a surprising amount of book talk.

We recap the Christmas party at the cigar shop – from potluck food and decorations to the wildly competitive White Elephant gift exchange (custom decanter, fishing rod, whiskey battles, and why the limit needs to go from $25 to $50 next year).

The crew also dives into family and holiday games:

    • Classic board games like Masterpiece, The Game of Life, Trivial Pursuit, Hues & Cues, and Uno
    • A full‑on “Christmas gauntlet” of party games involving flip cup, beer pong twists, and ornament challenges that end with everyone sweating

In between laughs, they get into books and reading habits – favorite fiction and non‑fiction, leadership and self‑improvement reads, and how hard it is to balance serious stuff like Lean Six Sigma with just enjoying a good story like The Princess Bride or Red Rising.

It’s cigars, bourbon, Christmas chaos, and good conversation – classic Hot Ashes Podcast.

  • Episode 16 (GHOSTS! GHOSTS! GHOSTS!)
    Dec 29 2025

    Send us a text

On this episode of the Hot Ashes Podcast, Lee, TK, and the crew dive deep into one of the oldest debates ever: are ghosts real or is it all in our heads?

We start light with what we’re smoking and drinking, then get into:

    • Childhood “haunted house” stories and shared creepy experiences
    • Why some of us want ghosts to be real (fear of death, coping with loss)
    • A wild near‑death experience involving surgery and “leaving the body”
    • The difference between spirit, energy, hallucinations, and brain chemistry
    • A serious back‑and‑forth between a skeptic, believers, and a Navy psychiatrist
    • How No Quarter Paranormal actually investigates (debunking first, then evidence)
    • Psychic art, crystals, exorcism stories, and whether anyone can truly be convinced

If you like long-form, unfiltered conversations about paranormal vs. science, mixed with jokes, stories, and a little existential dread, this one’s for you.

    Timestamps:
    00:00 – Intro, vibes, what we’re smoking & drinking

  • Episode 15 (Peru trip, parenting adults, survivor)
    Dec 22 2025

    Send us a text

In this episode, Lee and TK fire up the mics at George’s Cigar Shop with a full house: Solange is back, and new guest Gina jumps on mic four. They kick things off with what they’re not calling “the next episode,” talk intro music history (including TK’s lost rap opener), and settle in with their cigars and beers.

Gina takes everyone on a wild month‑long trek through Peru—from jungle humidity and invisible flesh‑eating bugs to an unguided four‑day hike to Machu Picchu, cheap hostels with hot meals and Wi‑Fi, a sprained ankle on day three, 20‑hour bus rides, desert oases, and surprise penguins and sea lions on the coast.

From there, the crew bounces through stories of Hawaii life and the infamous “Stairway to Heaven” hike, sketchy trails vs. cushy guided treks, and what can go wrong when you’re tired, distracted, and halfway up (or down) a mountain. That flows into parenting and preparedness: kids whacking their heads on lighthouse staircases, broken bones, mystery concussions, overstuffed hike backpacks, and being the only one who actually packed snacks and a first‑aid kit.

They also dive into family, siblings, and Christmas: adult kids, trying to keep the holiday “magic” alive, juggling in‑laws, traditions like spaghetti on Christmas Eve, and the stress of hosting vs. just showing up.

Rounding it out, there’s plenty of shop life and dog talk—Penny Lane and Eleanor Rigby’s chaotic reunion, bath trauma, agility classes, and why “all four on the floor” is the secret sauce of dog training—plus plans for the shop’s White Elephant Christmas party and ugly‑sweater strategy.

It’s cigars, travel tales, busted ankles, family chaos, and dog hair—pretty much everything you’d expect from an afternoon at Hot Ashes.

Lee and TK fire up cigars with a crew of Marines to swap stories about deployments, injuries, leadership, and life after the Corps—plus plenty of chaos with Great Danes and puppies. Later, Jess from Candy Adventure and Bloomin’ Swansboro shares how she was picked from 13,000 applicants to help decorate the White House for Christmas, work in the flower shop, and sneak a peek behind the scenes.

  • Episode 13 (Thanksgiving, Disk golf, Would you rather)
    Dec 8 2025

    Send us a text

Four dudes, a pile of cigars, and way too many stories. In this episode of the Hot Ashes Podcast, hosts Lee and TK are joined by Jared (Lee’s brother), plus Andy and Tyler, for a true cigar‑lounge hang at George’s Cigars in Swansboro, NC.

They kick things off with what they’re smoking and drinking (George’s torpedoes, Hazy Pernicious, Knob Creek, and even Diet Coke), then slide straight into childhood hot dog photos, near‑drowning pool stories, and their very different Thanksgiving traditions—multiple fried turkeys, leftover rules, and the argument over cold vs hot turkey sandwiches.

The crew recaps a long day of disc golf at Creekside, complete with tight wooded fairways, snakes, sore shoulders, and a genuinely sketchy moment: discovering a beeping pager in the woods in 2025 and watching a couple of very serious guys come back to retrieve it. From there, it’s family roasting (mom’s witchy home remedies and “Mary-isms”), small‑town vs city traffic, the “nothing box” in men’s brains, and a cascade of completely unhinged “would you rather” questions (baby head vs baby body, rats vs bugs, poop vs pee pain, and more).

If you like the feel of hanging in a cigar shop listening to friends talk trash, tell stories, and push hypotheticals way too far, this one fits right in.
