    Sometimes, a crowning achievement can be as equally humbling as it is a privilege…such is the case with the recent establishment of the Office of Indigenous Community Relations here at the Houston Museum of Natural Science, compassionately headed under the warm, inviting leadership of our own Gabriela Truly. This office ensures an active, flowing conduit through which the words, stories, and traditions of indigenous communities are accurately told, in their own words, in the John P. McGovern Hall of the Americas on the 3rd floor of the Houston Museum of Natural Science. Indigenous communities were here, and they are still here.

    Recently, HMNS hosted several members of the Indigenous Advisory Group to keep that dialog flowing, to learn, and to help ensure the stories within our hall are represented as accurately as possible. In this episode of the HMNS Beyond Bones Podcast, we had the privilege to speak with some of our gracious Indigenous guests to hear some of these stories in their own words.
