Guido's Lounge Cafe Guest Mix (Sonic Chapters) by The Twelve Inch Pé Dupre Hello dear friends, Guido van der Meulen here. Today at the Cafe, we have a very special treat for you. I am absolutely thrilled to welcome my friend and brilliant music curator, Pé Dupre, for an incredible guest mix titled "Sonic Chapters." Pé is the mastermind behind The Twelve Inch, where he explores the deep history and cultural stories behind great music. For this session, Pé has brought his wonderful "Let The Beat Be Your Guide" concept right into our harbor. It is a completely genre-free sonic adventure that moves beautifully from the classic r&b soul of Quincy Jones and Patrice Rushen into stunning cinematic landscapes from Craig Armstrong and John Barry, and deep electronic textures from Boards of Canada and Portishead. It is a mix built to help you relax, discover, and enjoy the stories that music can tell when words fade away. Pour yourself a fresh coffee, sit back, and enjoy this masterpiece. "When the beat becomes your guide, every track turns into a new chapter." Bio/text: Hi, I'm Pé Dupre (The Twelve Inch), a writer and music curator exploring the stories behind great music. Each week on Substack, I dive into the history of dance music between 1975 and 1995, one song at a time, placing every record in its musical and cultural context. Every article is accompanied by a Mixcloud soundtrack that starts with the featured track and expands into a journey through the sounds of its era. I also create Let The Beat Be Your Guide, a genre-free series of carefully curated mixes, from lounge and jazz to soul, pop, trip-hop, soundtracks, and beyond. They're sonic adventures made to relax, discover, and enjoy.
