From the Kingdom Hall to the Playa! What is a wild week of radical expression like for an exJW?? Burning Man is truly EPIC. Art cars roll past - like a full size pirate ship, a giant sheep covered in LEDs, and our own camp's incredible submarine sound car! We danced in a white out dust storm, carried our bikes through mud, and felt deeply human. The contrast of a deeply repressive past to this magical world of authenticity, community, and at times plenty of nudity (here's looking at you Foam Dome!) is a wild ride. The group shower experience was freezing cold and explicitly “nude not lewd”, yet it had the warm effect of de-stigmatizing shame about human bodies.
