  • What If Your Dreams Became Real? | Insidious: Out of the Further Cast Interview
    Aug 18 2026

Welcome back to Getting Strange with Steffany Strange, where we explore horror movies, the paranormal, and the strange.

In this episode, we're entering The Further with Insidious: Out of the Further. Before sitting down with the cast, I wanted to explore one of the paranormal ideas at the heart of the Insidious universe: astral projection and out-of-body experiences and a quick paranormal experience.
Then, I sat down with Lin Shaye, Amelia Eve, and Brendan to talk about returning to the world of Insidious, the evolution of Elise, the terrifying scenes on set, and the strange relationship between dreams and reality in the new film. And because dreams play such a major role in this story, I put the cast to the test with a little nightmare interpretation game: What does it supposedly mean when you dream about your teeth falling out? Finally, I ask them one paranormal question: If you dreamed about exactly where to find something that was missing and woke up to discover it was actually there would you call it coincidence, intuition, or something paranormal?

  • Surviving Jaws with Tom ‘The Blowfish’ | Shark Week Special
    Jul 20 2025

Jaws turns 50, and Shark Week is here to settle the score. In this special episode, I share my own childhood shark trauma (yep, baths were terrifying), break down fun facts and production chaos behind Spielberg’s Jaws, and explore how the film became a cultural—and political—phenomenon.

Then, I sit down with marine biologist and Shark Week star Tom “The Blowfish” Hird from Surviving Jaws to ask the big questions:
🦈 Can sharks really chew through boats?
🩱 Are skinny dippers actually at risk?
🎬 What do experts really think about the most iconic shark movie of all time?

Whether you're a shark nerd, horror buff, or Spielberg fan, this episode swims straight into the deep end.
