  • Remembering the Story
    Oct 4 2026
What does it mean to belong to a story far greater than our own circumstances? That is the question at the heart of the book of Chronicles, and it is one that speaks directly to us today. As we begin the Immerse Chronicles reading experience, we are invited to look past the long lists of names that open the book and discover something profound: those genealogies are not filler. They are a lifeline. Written for a people who had returned from exile, disoriented and unsure of their identity, Chronicles opens with a deliberate journey from Adam all the way through Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and eventually David. The message is clear -- our story does not begin with our current struggles. It begins at the very start of creation. When we feel displaced, unrooted, or forgotten, the genealogies remind us that we are woven into a narrative that stretches back to the beginning of time and forward into eternity. God's faithfulness to Abraham, to Israel, to David, is the same faithfulness extended to us. We are not an afterthought in God's story. We are a continuation of it.

  • Junia: Outstanding Apostle
    Sep 27 2026
Hidden in the final chapter of Romans is something that reads almost like the end credits of a film -- a long list of names that most of us are tempted to skip right over. But what if those names carry some of the most powerful spiritual lessons in the entire letter? Among them is Junia, a woman described as outstanding among the apostles, who alongside Andronicus endured the very real dangers of Roman imprisonment for the sake of the gospel. Their story challenges us to ask a hard but necessary question: what are we actually willing to risk for our faith? The early church was not a homogenous group of like-minded people -- it was a stunning diversity of Jews and Greeks, slaves and free, men and women, all brought together by the good news of Jesus. These names are not filler. They are a testimony to what the gospel does in the world, and a mirror held up to our own lives and commitments. It is a story in which reminds us that God pour out his Spirit on all people, both women and men.

  • Turning to God
    Oct 18 2026
What happens when we cry out to God in the middle of difficulty? Does He hear us? These questions sit at the heart of one of the most well-known verses in all of Scripture, 2 Chronicles 7:14, where God speaks directly to Solomon after the dedication of the temple and lays out a remarkable pattern for His people. But this message goes deeper than a single verse. It traces how that pattern, humble yourself, pray, seek God's face, and repent, plays out across the entire story of Chronicles, showing us that these were not just words spoken once in a grand moment. They were a living reality, tested and proven through generations of kings and nations who either embraced or rejected them. When the people humbled themselves, God moved. When they refused, the consequences were real. As we walk through this story together, we are invited to ask ourselves where we stand in that same pattern today, and what it might look like for us to be a people who genuinely turn toward God.
