This is the way the world ends, not with a bang but with two dinguses. This is, simply, good field recording.Blake I. Collier & Jamison Barsotti Art

Blamison are back for a duo episode once again! Jamison and Blake talk about 2016's Holidays the anthology horror film and how deeply inconsistent the movie is while a couple of the segments are terrific and others are conceptually good if not executed well. We zone in specifically on "Father's Day" and "Easter" since we were recording on Easter evening. Really this was just a way for Blake to talk about an article he wrote years ago the "Easter" segment. It's a good episode and we hope you enjoy it as well.

Also discussed: Easter, Jamison's mom's Easter music, child sleep troubles

Clip: Jamison's son Hazel talking about the benefits of beer.

  • Against the State
    Mar 26 2026

Blamison is back and this time we get LITERARY. On this episode we have special guest Seth Wieck who just released his debut collection of poetry Call Out Coyote through Wiseblood Books. We talk about his poetry and what it means to be a poet of place. We then turn our attention to the classic Paul Newman film Cool Hand Luke. We discuss the nature of prison films, the all-seeing eye of the state, and even Foucault’s Panopticon. Mostly we talk about why this film is a stone-cold classic.

Also discussed: Seth’s parenting hacks, Seth’s flirting with anarchist thought (maybe) and Christ imagery.

Clip: Seth Wieck reads his poem “The Rest are Missing”

  • When Cringe Was Cool
    Mar 12 2026

Blamison are back with a new episode! Blake’s pick this episode is 1975’s Breakout with Charles Bronson and Robert Duvall. We discuss the minor parts of the film that do work (mainly Bronson) and the large parts of the film that are heavy in their cringe factor. We also discuss that there really is no main character in this movie as no one really has a character arc.

Also discussed: tornadoes, rough kid days.

    Clip: Greipur’s Icelandic prison joke.
