Field, Forest & Folklore is inspired by my own journey through the old ways, the green world, and the landscapes that continue to shape our lives. From ancient woodland and quiet hedgerows to folklore, gardening, seasonal traditions, and stories inspired by the British countryside, this podcast explores the enduring relationship between people, place, and nature — and the quiet sense of wonder and magic that can still be found within the natural world. Thoughtful, reflective, and deeply connected to the land, Field, Forest & Folklore is an invitation to slow down, look closer, and listen to the world around us.

  • Apples, Acorns, And The Magic Of The Turning Year
    Aug 21 2026

We walk the edge of late summer and early autumn/fall, letting apples, acorns, hedgerows, and harvested fields reveal what abundance really looks like. The season’s shift becomes a gentle lesson in balance, renewal, and how letting go can open a new door.
    • noticing early signs of autumn in sound, color, and texture
    • apples as a symbol of abundance, history, and folklore
    • deciduous trees and the cycle of renewal
    • autumn equinox as a marker of balance between light and dark
    • oak trees, acorns, and what resilience looks like over time
    • bird migration and how warming winters may change patterns
    • hedgerows as wildlife corridors filled with berries and nuts
    • mycelium networks and the hidden work of fungi underground
    • harvested fields as places where decomposition becomes new life
    • a closing story about giving without certainty

  • The Swifts of High Summer
    Jul 31 2026

Summer can feel like it arrives on wings, and nothing captures that better than swifts. They show up almost overnight, slice across the evening sky around old buildings and church towers, and then vanish just as quickly after the height of the season. That beauty comes with a hard truth: swifts are now on the red list, and their decline is a signal that the natural systems we depend on are under strain. We’re nothing without nature, and this conversation is our plea to treat that as a practical reality, not a slogan.

We dig into what makes swift birds so astonishing: they are true masters of flight.

  • Introductory Episode: Nature Is Medicine
    Jul 31 2026

Welcome to my new podcast! We’re opening Field, Forest, and Folklore with a personal walk that becomes something bigger: a grounded introduction to nature healing, British folklore, and the kind of everyday spirituality that starts with paying attention instead of chasing answers.

I take you with me to Kew Gardens in London and share what I noticed, what I felt, and what each encounter seemed to mean.

If you’re drawn to forest bathing, nature-based mindfulness, folklore, or spiritual grounding practices, hit play and walk with us.

Subscribe, share this with a friend who needs a little steadiness, and leave a review, then tell us: what tree always shifts something in you?

A note for every episode: we do not necessary agree with all the views on our podcast and leave listeners to make their own mind up with what they do or don't agree with.
