À propos de ce contenu audio

Two in the box, ready to go! After two glorious seasons, it's time for a change. The West Midlands Ghostbusters are mixing things up for Season 3 of Fate, Luck & Karma as they talk not just about their favourite movie series, but also wander dangerously close to the etheric plane, and then quickly come back again when realising they're very much out of their depth. Hosted by Dean, Theo, Jay and friends, and recorded live in the home of metal music, Ozzy Osbourne and the Peaky Blinders - the West Midlands, UK.

In Season 3 of Fate, Luck & Karma, expect even more geek culture content, movie deep-dives, celebrations of diverse fandoms, showcasing of fan-films, cosplay and collecting tips, and even a little bit of ghost hunting - plus loads more fun stuff.

It's a brave new start for the plucky little Ghostbusters podcast that's gone on to reach listeners in 83 countries worldwide - who knows how big things will get when we throw open the doors to new things?!?

    • S03E03: Project Hail Mary & Disclosure Day Trailer Reactions, Robert Duvall Remembered & More
      Feb 19 2026

The team is back to navigate the weird and wonderful corners of the geek-sphere, starting with a deep dive into the teaser for Steven Spielberg’s Disclosure Day. Is it a spiritual successor to Close Encounters, or something much darker? We weigh up the theories on what "the truth" really looks like in 2026.

Meanwhile, Dean has been tackling Andy Weir’s Project Hail Mary, but he’s found himself slightly distracted by the AI’s voice. If you’ve ever wanted to explore the cosmos with a companion that sounds suspiciously like a Tesco self-checkout machine, this is the review for you. "Unexpected item in the docking area," anyone?

We also take a moment to pay our respects to the legendary Robert Duvall following his recent passing at 95, reflecting on a career that spanned from To Kill a Mockingbird to The Godfather.

Plus: Anniversary Fever: We look ahead at the massive cinematic milestones hitting in 2026 - can you believe Rocky is turning 50 and Top Gun is hitting 40?

With the premiere of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, we find ourselves revisiting Discovery to see how the foundations of the 32nd century are holding up.

All this and more, packed into our latest recording.

    • S03E02: Masters of the Universe Trailer Reaction, Lego SMART Bricks, M.A.S.K Toys & More!
      Jan 28 2026

The team cast a wide net across the geeky world in this episode, giving their first reactions to the Masters of the Universe 2026 trailer, wonder when we'll see Orko, and consider how good a match Idris Elba is for Man-At-Arms. Plus Dean digs into the archives to give some much needed airtime to a 1983 Masters of the Universe story on vinyl (you need to hear the intro song) and the team unpick some of the hidden and not-so-hidden Easter eggs sprinkled through the teaser - how many did you catch?

Staying with Masters of the Universe, we resurrect our "Unnecessary Censorship" feature, but this time with a bit of a He-Man spin.

While we're firmly back in the 80s, we also give our take on the recently relaunched and reimagined M.A.S.K. vehicles and figures, with Jay explaining why he *cancelled* his pre-orders...

From there we explore some stunning fundraising work from the Alberta Ghostbusters, show some love to a one-of-one Vigo the Carpathian custom action figure, show a little less love to the latest Ghostbusters book from Magnoli, wonder what SMART bricks mean for Lego lovers - and why they're only currently paired with Star Wars Lego for now, and consider just how likely serious injury is when you're wearing a pair of Crocs Lego shoes.

All this, and much more, squeezed into a little over 30 minutes.

Be sure to leave us a comment, review, or even a voice note via our WhatsApp - we'd love to hear from you!

    • S03E01: Netflix Ghostbusters Delay, Pokémon Lego, Stranger Things Finale and More
      Jan 13 2026

In the first of a new wider-ranging Fate, Luck & Karma, join Dean, Theo and Jay as they explore Ghostbusters news... and a whole lot more.

We'll talk about why we made the decision to cover not just Ghostbusters, but also stories from the wider geeky and paranormal worlds (and don't worry, we'll of course still cover Ghostbuster news as it arises, but as we say in the intro, there's a big geeky world out there, and we want to explore it with you!).

So, listen in to learn more about the eye-wateringly expensive Pokémon Lego range - which, as a little sidenote, sold out the Gift With Purchase extras while we were recording this episode - hear about how the Netflix Ghostbusters animated series is nowhere to be seen in 2026, how vampire movie Sinners flew the flag for horror at the Golden Globes, how the team behind Weapons are heading up a new Mummy movie, plus hear how we felt after the climactic finale of Stranger Things.

All of this, plus our reactions to the first four teasers for Avengers: Doomsday!

Let us know your thoughts by leaving us a comment wherever you find this episode, or you can drop us a line on our social media channels or through our WhatsApp.

It's a New Year, it's a new season, and it's a whole new world the geeky and the strange to explore. Let's get started, shall we...?
