The Columbia South Carolina Temple was announced in September 1998, 401 days later, it was dedicated! The church has always had a place in South Carolina because the people there are prepared to hear the gospel message. After touring the temple during the open house one Rabbi's response was "“You are the only Church that cares about the spirit of Elijah”, which we take as a superb compliment! The angel Moroni on this temple was once struck by lightning! But we can't find any pictures, do you have one?

The Bismarck North Dakota Temple was built to support saints living over a large area, over 200,000 sq miles! It is a blessing to members who once drove 12-16 hours to get to their nearest temple. The Church bought extra land in the early 1980's, not really knowing what it could be used for, and held onto the land when it didn't really make sense to do so.
