Welcome to Hermetic Dialogues, where we explore the fascinating world of Hermetic philosophy. Today, we're diving into the topic of angels and demons in Hermetic texts, and how they affect our lives.
The Greek term that we often translate as 'angel' simply means 'messenger' and was actually a title given to several gods in ancient times.
But don't worry, we're not left without any spiritual beings to discuss. Enter the 'demon' - a term that appears frequently in Hermetic texts. The Greek word 'daimōn' (plural 'daimones') refers to spirits in general. This broad category technically includes gods and even human souls, although these are usually treated differently.
