Dancing Astronaut's Cam DeFaria sits down with producer/DJ Westend to talk through starting his own label, touring life, unreleased music and more.
Born and raised in New York City, Tyler Morris, professionally known as Westend, is a 30-year-old tastemaker in the bustling tech-house music scene. An early fascination with electronic music led him to dive into music production during his teenage years while attending the Bronx High School of Science, the same school attended by synth pioneer Robert Moog. He adopted the moniker Westend, a tribute to the area of NYC that nurtured his musical passion. Morris is currently driving the growth of his well-renowned producer collective, Kick & Bass, all while operating his 2023-founded record label, Trace Amounts.
