- Disasters are on the rise, know your region and particulars for the types of weather events that are most likely to impact you. Keep in mind the micro/local geography that can affect weather patterns and where there will most likely be floods, fires, or other impacts that may not affect others close by to you.
- Having a disaster preparedness plan in place before issues arise can mitigate a number of issues, and allow for a speedy recovery.
- Consider adding building monitoring/controls that can alert you to flooding or other issues.
- Evaluate what your energy resilience is to ensure your sump pump and other critical equipment will be able to operate in case your power is interrupted.
