I feel like I have been dumped, even though he keeps saying it’s temporary.

Should I continue to pursue this relationship? It breaks my heart that I have somehow become “the other woman”, even though I was here first. So, do I stick around and wait for Nick to figure things out, or do I cut my losses and start looking for a new partner?

I work a job that takes up all my time. I want to get away from that and run my own business. At least then, even if it takes up all my time, it's ultimately to make my life better, not so someone else can go play golf during the week. I don't think I'm ready to quit my job just yet. I find my work really meaningful in supporting a cause I care a lot about. However, there is no path for growth, promotion, or raises and I have some dislike of upper management. Question:

How can I figure out what kind of career I should be looking into? Or should I focus on the work I’m doing now and plan for my growth in this field? With either choice, I am open to returning to university or other programs to further my education or take on new training.

I have been asking this same question to my family and friends, and they each come up with a different answer. I think their response is more about what they worry about than what they think I should do. I’m hoping that you’ll choose my question and give me an impartial answer.
