"Non-binary, Queer. Christian. Let's add a truckload of Borderline Personality Disorder, bucket of ADHD, Depression and crippling anxiety. Okay, so you're gonna be part of the 'tortured artist' trope, struggle with each part of existence, but love it all at the same time, so let's just try to make it past 16 okay?."

... - 'Urmmmm, okayyyy? What now though?"

ADHD, BPD, LGBTQ+ & WWJD - Welcome to The Alphabet Club+! *(to be used by 'members' only)

Centred around topics that are responsible for a massive societal divide, this show explores just how heavy each acronym is, let alone how it feels to exist with the all-inclusive package. It'll cover love & relationships, gender roles & politics, body image, self-care, purpose, faith, artistry, and dare I say, 'politics'.

The government cowering behind improper use of public-provided finances to fill their own pockets, meanwhile pushing bigotry and 'opinions' that build legislations which directly impact su***de rates for those under these acronyms, cutting off funding for mental health care, consistently threatening minority groups and affecting entire communities, has all led me to a final straw.

Personally, I am done with this. We will not be erased and we will prioritise love, growth, community, and all in all, hope. After all, MLK's words of "Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that," resonate more so than ever. When attacks only keep coming against us, our friends, family, loved ones, and when we'd naively think their audacity would have a limit,- whole communities that reach to millions of people across the globe, the only option we're left with is to speak - to use our voice, loud and clear. This podcast aims to pull us in all closer, tighter and stronger to push against the tide that has, and is, actively trying to erase us. It'll display real-life stories of people who are impacted the most. Don't be alarmed, as I said, the core of this show is to unite us with love, to build awareness and to bypass their attempts to silence us. To scream out into the world, together with a rumble: "J'existe!"

Each episode will swing from hilarious to heartbreaking and back, with some fantastic guests joining to offer a wider view of one (or several) of the acronyms as part of The Alphabet Club+.

      Trigger Warnings - addiction, su***de, r*pe, emotional ab**se

Join me and the lovely Bex Day (ft her adorable dog, Goo) as we cover multiple facets of BPD (EUPD) across this phenomenon called 'existence'.

Covering late diagnosis, career, relationships and medication, we also break down the lessons learnt, the healing done thus far, and what we wish for the future. Bex shares some fab things she's done on her healing journey that have helped her get to where she is now, and I sprinkle my personal little epiphanies on how to use aspects of BPD that are typically felt with a negative connotation, for good.

Bex is a photographer and director from London, who has worked across the globe with the likes of Vogue Italia/Mexico, The British Journal of Photography, the New York Times, Gay Times, Royal Photographic Society, Stella McCartney, Louis Vuitton, and that is just to name a few! She has lectured about her work at Nicer Tuesdays (It's Nice That), Cambridge University, and has had her work displayed and nominated for a multitude of internationally recognised awards. Be it the transgender and non-binary communities in the UK, the impact of Covid on children, or 'celebrating the uniqueness of the vulva', Bex takes on the world by drawing attention to where her own focus lies - breaking the stigma and raising awareness on an array of groundbreaking topics across a selection of art mediums.

This episode is full of laughs, but heavy topics are discussed, so if it does get a bit too much, please do take a break. Get some fresh air, a cuppa or pet your pet; whatever will help you get back to a regulated state and remind you that you're safe.

      Lots of love, AD x
