The Great Commission is not just a command for the church. It is a calling for every follower of Jesus.

In Matthew 28:18–20, Jesus commands His disciples to go and make disciples of all nations. But what does it actually mean to make disciples, and are we living in obedience to that calling?

In this episode of the Deepen Podcast, Pastor Joby Martin and Pastor Ryan Britt unpack the Great Commission and the heart behind Neighbors to Nations, The Church of Eleven22's two-year discipleship journey.

From the difference between being a fan of Jesus and a true follower to the importance of evangelism, obedience and biblical discipleship, this conversation challenges us to move beyond simply knowing God's Word to living it out. Through personal stories from the mission field, they explore why making disciples is not just about reaching others but also about deepening our own dependence on Christ.

Jesus has been given all authority in heaven and on earth, and He promises to be with us as we carry out His mission. We are not called to make disciples through our own strength, but to faithfully declare and demonstrate the gospel as God works through us.

The question is not whether you have a role in the Great Commission, but whether you are willing to surrender and obey.

Why does the resurrection of Jesus matter, and what does the empty tomb mean for our faith today?

In this episode of Deepen, Pastor Joby Martin, Pastor Jonathan Vinke, and Pastor Matt explore Matthew 28 and the historical, spiritual, and eternal significance of Jesus' resurrection.

From the evidence surrounding the empty tomb to the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy, we unpack why the resurrection is the foundation of the Christian faith. Through the eyewitness accounts, the transformation of the early church, and the promises fulfilled through Christ, we are reminded that the gospel is not simply about Jesus' death, but His victory over sin and death.

We also discuss the difference between believing that Jesus rose from the dead and placing our faith in Him, the importance of living with both reverence and joy, and what it means to follow a risen Savior.

Because Jesus is alive, we can trust His promises, walk in freedom, and live with the hope of eternal life.

What does it look like to stay faithful to Jesus when the world pushes back?

In this special episode of Deepen, Pastor Joby Martin sits down with his friend Pastor Josh Howerton of Lakepointe Church for an honest conversation about faith, leadership and what God is doing in the Church today.

Following Jesus isn't about building a platform, gaining approval or avoiding opposition. It's about staying rooted in God's Word, trusting Him with the results and being willing to go wherever He calls.

Whether you're leading a church, a family or simply trying to follow Jesus more faithfully, this conversation will challenge you to examine what you're building your life on and ask yourself: Am I seeking the approval of people or the approval of God?
