À propos de ce contenu audio

Don’t be afraid to step back and heal—one day, one moment at a time. A DEEPER Podcast invites you into heartfelt conversations about fortitude, mental health, and self-discovery. I’ve lived in five U.S. states before making South Korea my current home. With 20 years of experience as a movement artist, dance educator, and choreographer, I bring a unique blend of artistic and educational insight to every episode. For the past 9 years as Founder and Creative Director of moveDIPR LLC, I’ve launched innovative programs ranging from apprenticeships and internships to coaching and a project dance company. Since 2021, I’ve advocated for mental health through initiatives like my Open Letters, YouTube series DEEPER CONVERSATIONS, DIPRthoughts Newsletter, Dance Teacher Magazine article, and an Artist Talk in 2023. This work reflects my own mental health journey, fostering open dialogue and creating a safe space for others to share their experiences too! Every week, we explore life change, mental health, and self-discovery by amplifying the voices of BIPOC artists, including dancers, choreographers, facilitators, musicians, and singer-songwriters from across the United States. My guests, whether seasoned professionals or emerging creatives, share the invisible yet powerful stories behind their journeys. Through intimate conversations, we ask: • What’s one word that describes your personal and artistic journey? • What began your mental health consciousness? • What can others take away from your journey? These stories reveal struggles, and triumphs, offering hope, inspiration, and encouragement for navigating life’s toughest moments. Whether you’re an artist, creator, or someone searching for purpose and healing, this podcast helps you reconnect, recharge, and reimagine what’s possible—through art, healing, and honest storytelling. • EP 4 - Embracing CHANGE and Trusting Your Instincts with Vikas Arun
    Dec 5 2024

In this episode, I chat with Vikas Arun, a multi-faceted, queer, East Indian artist and thinker, to discuss how change is the only constant in life and why trusting your instincts is enough. Vikas reflects on the balance between career and life, the struggle to define oneself beyond art, and the importance of being in control of your identity.

We explore powerful questions like: Who are we as artists without our art? How do we navigate the tension between passion and practicality? And how do we embrace our inner chameleon while staying true to ourselves?

If you’ve ever felt the need to redefine yourself or questioned how to balance it all, this conversation is for you.
