      Malachi 1:8

Would you give your boss a broken, outdated gift? Then why do we offer God our leftover time, distracted attention, and second-best efforts? God called the Israelites' half-hearted sacrifices evil - what does that say about our modern worship? Time to examine what we're really offering the God of the universe.

      Malachi 1:1-14

God opens the book of Malachi by declaring His love for Israel, but the people respond with skepticism, asking how He has loved them. Their spiritual blindness led them to interpret God's love through difficult circumstances rather than recognizing His faithfulness throughout history. The Israelites had fallen into a pattern of half-hearted worship, offering God their leftovers instead of their best. They continued religious activities but their hearts had grown cold, treating worship as routine rather than relational. God challenges us to examine whether we're giving Him our best or merely going through the motions, honoring Him as Father and submitting to Him as Master out of love and gratitude.
