    Mar 22 2023
This podcast looks at the huge topic of Grief, a word that can be very Big and Triggering. Grief is something that we all face at some point in our lives. We talk about the Rawness of grief, the anger in grief. And one word that Tony uses in his sessions is ‘Adaption’, adaption to the grieving process being something clients feel they can work through rather than be stuck in. We talk about grief being the presenting issue in therapy and sometimes it comes up later in the therapy journey.

In this podcast we explore the word Gratitude, the benefits and the practice from how as therapists we open our clients up to seeing if that can work for them and we also speak about how we personally practice gratitude in different ways. We look at the impact of practising too much gratitude, social media, as in expecting to only be positive all the time and now feel  down. Tony speaks about the word ‘Thank You’ as being the first step.

  • Change and control
    Mar 10 2023
We explore the limitations of wanting control and resisting change. We talk about the development of language as child and how our environment can impact that and begin our language journey. As therapists we don’t want to take away what’s already ingrained in the client , but work on opening awareness to how their language impacts or limits them, and how it can change to empower the client instead. We touch on the impact of Covid and how that has opened our eyes to change and control.

  • Compassion
    Mar 9 2023

We speak about  the difference between Empathy and Compassion. Using an example of someone drops their groceries, knowing as a human how that feels and then helping the person pick the groceries up.

We discuss the point of practising compassion towards others and towards ourselves.

Self-compassion as a person and therapist and encouraging our clients to do something kind towards themselves as they leave the therapy room

And most importantly acknowledging the overwhelming feelings and seeking support.
