If you could bottle up a perfect barra trip, this would be pretty bloody close.

The Cod Tales crew has just wrapped up an unforgettable week at Lake Monduran, and what a ride it was. Sleepless nights, early mornings, sore arms, endless laughs, and barra that did not disappoint!!

The houseboat quickly became headquarters for absolute chaos. Between the cook-ups, cold beers, nonstop banter, and fish stories getting bigger by the minute, there wasn't a dull moment all week.

But the real stars of the show were the barra.

Glide bait eats in the dark, and Barra that loved the fluff, heart-stopping follows, brutal strikes, and metre-plus fish that had the boys shaking long after they hit the net. Every session felt like the next cast could produce the fish of a lifetime.

Trips like this remind us why we do it. Great mates, incredible fishing, and memories that will be talked about for years to come.

This week we break down a trip chasing trout and bass, ticking off a few firsts in the new tin along the way 👌 Plenty of laughs, a few lessons learnt and some awesome sessions on the water.

From there we head down to Lake Mulwala for Round 1 of the Teams Fishing Australia event, chasing both cod and yellas. Unfortunately the trip wasn’t without drama, with a few motor issues trying to slow us down 😅 but that definitely didn’t stop us from having a crack.

We chat about some unreal bite windows, the grind of finding yellowbelly when they’re shut down, and what it takes to stay in the game when the fishing gets tough.

We also dive into some new baits we’ve been testing and talk about how far ahead the Japanese market is when it comes to lure design, innovation and techniques compared to what we see here in Australia 🇯🇵🎣

This one’s a cracker we get right into the nitty gritty of chasing cod and yellas in shallow water. It’s one of those topics that sounds simple… until you realise how much there actually is to it. Plenty of little tips and eye-openers in here 👀

We’ve also got young Levi jumping on for a yarn telling the story of his first ever cod, which just casually turned into his PB 😅 Not a bad way to kick things off!

We run through our Easter river drift too, the highs, the lows, and a few moments that had us scratching our heads. As always, a couple of laughs mixed in with some solid takeaways.

And we touch on something that matters, fish care. There’s been a few things going on that don’t sit right, so we have an honest chat about respecting the fish and doing the right thing out on the water.
