  • Beyond the Diagnosis: Finding Your People with Jen Jacob, Co-Founder of DSDN!!
    Oct 21 2026

    🚨 THIS ONE IS A MUST-LISTEN! 🚨

This week, we're sitting down with Jen Jacob, co-founder of the Down Syndrome Diagnosis Network (DSDN)!

If you aren't familiar with DSDN, it's an AMAZING organization dedicated to supporting families who have received a Down syndrome diagnosis.

What started as a small online group connecting moms has grown into one of the largest national support networks for new and expectant parents of children with Down syndrome!

💙 DSDN helps families connect with other parents who GET IT, provides trusted resources and education, offers support groups and mentorship, and works to make sure families receive accurate, supportive information when they get a diagnosis.

Their mission is simple but SO important: No family should have to navigate a Down syndrome diagnosis alone.

And that's exactly why we love conversations like this one!

If you're new here, Chromosomes & Chaos is a podcast about Down syndrome, REAL LIFE, parenting kids with disabilities, and ALL the chaos that comes with it! 😂

We're talking motherhood, relationships, family, fitness, IEPs, personal growth, and all the unexpected twists and turns life throws our way.

The messy stuff. The funny stuff. The hard stuff. And the things that don't always get talked about.

We don't have all the answers. We definitely don't have it all figured out. And that's kind of the point!

Some episodes will make you laugh, some will make you think, and others will remind you that YOU ARE NOT ALONE! ❤️

🎧 GO LISTEN TO OUR NEWEST EPISODE!

📣 PLEASE SHARE THIS EPISODE! You never know who in your circle might be navigating a new diagnosis, looking for resources, or simply needing to know there's a whole community ready to support them!

    Sep 23 2026

🎙️ NEW CHROMOSOMES & CHAOS EPISODE!

We’re playing WOULD YOU RATHER: Parent Edition 😂

And some of these choices are just… cruel.

Would you rather step on a LEGO or have your kid wake you up at 3AM EVERY. SINGLE. DAY?

📝 IEP meeting or dentist appointment?

👩‍🏫 New associate or new teacher?

    📅 Routine or flexibility?

📧 School email or SCHOOL PHONE CALL? 😳
(You already know that phone call hits different.)

And that’s just the beginning. 😂

We’re talking parenting, school, routines, the things that stress us out, the things that make us laugh, and all the chaos in between.

    Some answers were EASY.
    Some caused debate.
And some were basically choosing between two forms of torture. 😂

We’re breaking down 10 things to know before your first IEP—from navigating confusing language and asking about progress to setting goals that support friendships, communication and independence.

We’re also talking about why inclusion means more than being in the room, why your child’s strengths belong in the conversation and why an evaluation should never put a ceiling on their future.

You don’t have to know every acronym to have a voice at the table. You know your child—and that matters.
