  • JESUS IS… The True Vine — John 15 | Ben Molyneux
    Jun 22 2026

Series: JESUS IS… who he says he is. A series in the “I AM” statements in John’s Gospel.

    Date: 21 June 2026

Preacher: Rev Ben Molyneux (St Faith's Anglican Church, Narrabeen)

    Scripture: John 15:1-17

    --

Jesus' declaration "I am the true vine" in John 15 fulfils centuries of Old Testament imagery, where Israel failed as God's vineyard. Jesus is the vine that produces the fruit God requires, succeeding where Israel repeatedly failed despite God's faithful care.

The passage holds both warning and comfort: God removes fruitless branches, those not genuinely connected to Christ, while pruning fruitful branches to produce more fruit.

The central call is to abide in Christ, maintaining constant, close communion with him through his word, obedience, and dependence. This connection isn't passive belonging but active believing, producing visible fruit of righteousness, love, and joy.

The Father, as the vinedresser, works through life's difficulties and his word to cultivate growth in genuine believers.

  • JESUS IS… The Way, The Truth, and The Life — John 14 | Dave Miers
    Jun 16 2026

Series: JESUS IS… who he says he is. A series in the “I AM” statements in John’s Gospel.

    Date: 14 June 2026

    Preacher: Rev Dave Miers

    Scripture: John 14:1-14

    --

What if the greatest offer ever made was extended to you personally — a guaranteed place in God's eternal home?

In John 14, on the night before he dies, Jesus makes an unbelievable promise to his disciples: in my Father's house are many rooms, and I'm going to prepare one for you.

Thomas asks the obvious question: how do we get there?

Jesus answers plainly. He is the way, the truth, and the life. Not a way. The way. No one comes to the Father except through him.

You can't earn your way there. You can't choose your own path and hope it leads to God. But Jesus has done what we couldn't do — lived the life we failed to live, died the death we deserved, and risen to open the way home.

Do you believe it enough to entrust your whole life to him?

  • JESUS IS… The Resurrection and the Life — John 11 | Dave Miers
    Jun 8 2026

Series: JESUS IS… who he says he is. A series in the “I AM” statements in John’s Gospel.

    Date: 7 June 2026

    Preacher: Rev Dave Miers

    Scripture: John 11

    --

Bryan Johnson is spending millions trying to not die. He calls it Project Blueprint. The slogan? Don't Die.

He's not crazy. He's just saying out loud what all of us feel.

Nobody wants to die. Nobody wants to lose the people they love.

Two thousand years ago, a man stood outside a tomb and made the most audacious claim in human history. Not that he believed in resurrection. Not that he could perform miracles. But that he is the resurrection and the life.

John 11 is one of the most remarkable chapters in the Bible. Jesus weeps at the graveside of his friend. He doesn't pretend death is okay. He rages against it. And then he calls a four-day-dead man out of a tomb.

The raising of Lazarus isn't the main event. It's a sign pointing to something greater — the death and resurrection of Jesus himself, and the promise of eternal life for all who believe in him.

Martin Luther called it the great exchange. Jesus took our death. We receive his life.

John Lennox, Oxford mathematician and Christian, was asked about transhumanism this week. His response? You're too late. The problem of physical death was solved when God raised Christ from the dead 20 centuries ago.

Is death the end? Jesus says no.

    Do you believe this?
