In this episode Mark talks to returning guest, writer-director Carol Morley about her new coming-of-age feature 7 MILES OUT premiering at BFI London Film Festival. The only British film in competition, it is adapted from Carol’s celebrated semi-autobiographical novel of the same name.

They discuss Carol’s journey into filmmaking, including discovering Florence Pugh, the making of 7 MILES OUT, and what’s next for her.

Tune in to next week's Kermode on Film for the final episode from this month’s MK3D, when Mark is joined by Nigel Smith to talk about his delightful book AN OPINIONATED GUIDE TO FILM LONDON, and director James Watkins about his latest film CLAYFACE.

Take a front row seat for the 117th edition of MK3D at the BFI Southbank. Enjoy!

MK3D shows happen live every month. Head over to the BFI website if you’d like to join us in the audience at the BFI Southbank.
