Good evening! I'm Aaron Jolly. And this is the Southern California Weather Podcast for Sunday, February 22nd. Folks, February is pretending to be May right now. You're sitting at 75 degrees under crystal clear skies. Enjoy this tonight because the real story is what's coming. This week is a slow build toward temperatures that have no business showing up in February. Tonight you'll cool down to around 52 degrees in Greater LA by 5 A.M. Winds shift from southwest to west around 4 P.M. Then Monday? You're climbing right back to 80 degrees by 2 P.M. That's five degrees warmer than today. Slide down to San Diego. Northwest winds are gusting to 15 miles an hour around 2 P.M. Today. Those winds flip north by 8 P.M. Tonight. You'll dip to 51 degrees around 4 A.M., then bounce back to 75 degrees by noon Monday. Now the Inland Empire. This is where it gets spicy. You hit 76 degrees today. Tonight drops to 48 degrees by 5 A.M. That's a 48 degree swing. Winds shift north to west around 6 P.M. By Monday at 2 P.M., you're touching 81 degrees. The week ahead reads like a temperature escalator. Monday through Wednesday, inland spots push into the low 80s while the coast hangs in the 70s. Patchy fog creeps back by midweek along the water. Then Thursday and Friday? The inland valleys could hit 86 degrees. That's 48 degrees above normal for late February. Your car steering wheel will remind you of August. Coastal areas stay pleasant in the mid 70s. We're gaining over two minutes of daylight each day. No rain anywhere on the horizon. Air quality sits in the moderate range, so it's a great evening for a walk. Just keep water handy this week during those peak afternoon hours. I'll be tracking that Friday heat spike closely. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. Take care!

Good afternoon! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Southern California Weather Podcast. It's Sunday, February 22nd. Folks, step outside right now and you'll feel 49 degrees under crystal clear skies. Gorgeous. But this is the opening act for something wild. We're about to ride a temperature escalator straight into late June territory. By Friday, some inland spots could hit 86 degrees. In February. Let that sink in. But first, let's talk about today. Greater Los Angeles hits 75 degrees right around 1 PM. Winds flip from north to west northwest near 10 AM. Nothing dramatic, just 5 to 10 miles an hour. Down in San Diego, you're topping out at 69 degrees by early afternoon. Breezier there though. North winds gusting to 25 miles an hour around noon. Head inland to the Empire and you'll wait a bit longer for peak warmth. 75 degrees arriving closer to 3 PM. Quick note for the early risers. There's a Frost Advisory until 9 AM for spots like Calabasas and Ojai. Your tomato plants don't know what's coming this week, but protect them this morning. Tonight cools into the low 50s along the coast. Upper 40s inland. Nothing brutal. Just enough to remind you it's still technically winter. Now here's where it gets interesting. Monday, high pressure muscles in and shoves thermometers to 80 degrees in LA and the Inland Empire. San Diego hits 74. Then it just keeps climbing. By Thursday, LA reaches 81. San Diego 76. Inland Empire 83. Friday? The Inland Empire could touch 86 degrees. That's record challenging warmth, 49 degrees to 49 degrees above normal. Overnight lows stay mild through the week, mostly 50s, with patchy fog possible after 10 PM. No rain anywhere in sight through Saturday. We're gaining over two minutes of daylight each day now. Combined with these temps, your calendar says February but your sunscreen says otherwise. Slather it on. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. Take care!

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly, and welcome to the Southern California Weather Podcast. It's Sunday, February 22nd, and folks, this region is about to do something wild. Step outside right now and you'll feel a pleasant 51 degrees. Enjoy that crispness. Because by Friday, inland thermometers are gunning for the upper 80s. Deserts? Flirting with 90 degrees. In February. That's not a warm spell. That's summer crashing the party two months early. Here's your Sunday. Greater L.A. Wakes up near 47 degrees around 6 A.M. By 1 P.M., you're at 75 degrees as northwest winds kick in. Down in San Diego, you're starting at 50 degrees with gusty north winds building to 15 miles an hour by noon. Highs top out near 69 degrees. Head over to the Inland Empire and it's even warmer. Low of 48 degrees around 4 A.M., then a rocket ride to 75 degrees by 3 P.M. Quick heads up if you've got tender plants in Santa Ynez or Ojai. Frost advisories hold until 9 A.M. Where temps dipped into the low 30s overnight. Cover those succulents. They didn't sign up for this. Now the week ahead is where things get ridiculous. Monday, L.A. Jumps to 80 degrees. San Diego hits 74. By Thursday, coastal spots reach the mid 70s, inland pushes the mid 80s, and desert communities crack the mid 90s. That's 44 degrees to 44 degrees above normal. A weak system might brush San Luis Obispo County Tuesday night, but we're talking barely a trace of rain. Wednesday brings patchy morning fog, otherwise it's sunshine on repeat. Slather on sunscreen and hydrate like you mean it. We're also gaining two minutes of daylight every day. Air quality sits at moderate. Perfect excuse to get outside. One more thing. If you're loving these morning updates, share us with someone who plans their week around the weather. We all know that person. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. Take care!
