 Good evening! I'm Aaron Jolly. And this is the Southern California Weather Podcast for Sunday, February 22nd. Folks, February is pretending to be May right now. You're sitting at 75 degrees under crystal clear skies. Enjoy this tonight because the real story is what's coming. This week is a slow build toward temperatures that have no business showing up in February. Tonight you'll cool down to around 52 degrees in Greater LA by 5 A.M. Winds shift from southwest to west around 4 P.M. Then Monday? You're climbing right back to 80 degrees by 2 P.M. That's five degrees warmer than today. Slide down to San Diego. Northwest winds are gusting to 15 miles an hour around 2 P.M. Today. Those winds flip north by 8 P.M. Tonight. You'll dip to 51 degrees around 4 A.M., then bounce back to 75 degrees by noon Monday. Now the Inland Empire. This is where it gets spicy. You hit 76 degrees today. Tonight drops to 48 degrees by 5 A.M. That's a 48 degree swing. Winds shift north to west around 6 P.M. By Monday at 2 P.M., you're touching 81 degrees. The week ahead reads like a temperature escalator. Monday through Wednesday, inland spots push into the low 80s while the coast hangs in the 70s. Patchy fog creeps back by midweek along the water. Then Thursday and Friday? The inland valleys could hit 86 degrees. That's 48 degrees above normal for late February. Your car steering wheel will remind you of August. Coastal areas stay pleasant in the mid 70s. We're gaining over two minutes of daylight each day. No rain anywhere on the horizon. Air quality sits in the moderate range, so it's a great evening for a walk. Just keep water handy this week during those peak afternoon hours. I'll be tracking that Friday heat spike closely.
