Founded in 2008, Behind the Brand with Bryan Elliott is a show about innovators, entrepreneurs and the stories behind their success. It's like a backstage pass inside the brand strategy and marketing minds, companies and habits of some of the smartest and most interesting people on the planet. Host, Bryan Elliott decodes these stories to help you turn their wisdom into practical tactics that you can use to improve your life and grow your business. Why do this? I'm someone who loves to tell stories that I hope will inspire and educate others to find their reason for being. I basically invented the podcast I wish I had when I quit my corporate job and started my own business. I made a lot of mistakes and figured things out the hard way. I've been inspired by so many of my guests and I know you'll find a ton of value here as well. Podcast series / Marketing:

  • Nobody Teaches THIS to Men—and they Should | Manscaped
    Apr 6 2026

Nobody warns you about the first time…

One morning you wake up, look in the mirror, and your face has started doing something on its own. You have hair! It starts by looking like peach fuzz or dirt above your lip. But it’s not a problem and you’re proud it’s there.

And usually without anyone showing you what to do or handing you a manual, you pick up a razor.

Just like that—and hopefully without nicks cut or other injuries— you're in the club. This is an exceptionally well designed electric razor without sharp cutting bits. Relax, you’re safe.

What they don't tell you about being in the club:
This four inches of real estate on each side of your face is sacred ground.

Okay, maybe you’re outgoing and more people touch this area of your face than you realize. But that doesn’t mean this area is any less important. And if things go well in your life, a special person gets clearance to go there whenever you want.

So the thing you press against that ground matters. The ritual matters. You're not just removing hair. You're deciding, every single morning, what kind of man shows up today.

Some of us grow it out. We do this because we can. Others like it smooth like butter. Whatever the case. This is the one moment of the day that belongs to you. Men are simple. We've been told this is an insult. It's not. Simple means we know what we want. We want the game to be on.

The face, chest, pits and below the belt are the places a man actually has to manage. You can cover everything else with a hoodie. Bad day? Nobody sees it. Bad decisions? Hoodie covers the mustard on your shirt. But the face? The face is always on camera. It’s the money maker, bro.

    Let’s get it.

  • He Built a $250 Million Brand. Then He Left to Start Over | While on Earth
    Mar 11 2026

In 2015 Todd Meleney, a young inexperienced newcomer, helped build Nobull from a three-person startup to $250 million in annual revenue. Then just 18 months ago he walked away to do it again, from scratch, in one of the most competitive markets on the planet.

The result is While on Earth, a performance wellness footwear and apparel brand he launched in fall 2024 out of Providence, Rhode Island. Less than two years in, the brand is in hyper growth mode, operating primarily direct-to-consumer, with a product line expanding in 2026. Meleney also has three big-name pro athlete co-founders to help design, develop and legitimize the brand, including arguably the best player in the NFL who gave up a multi-million dollar deal with Nike to join them.

Meleney is a visionary entrepreneur who believes time is our most valuable currency, and he’s passionate about helping people reach their full potential through performance and wellness.

Before launching while on earth, Todd was the award-winning CMO and first employee at NOBULL, where he oversaw marketing, content, and revenue from pre-launch to $200M+ in annual sales. He’s known for building a cult following and orchestrating some of the largest and most highly anticipated product launches in the athletic space.

In this episode, Todd talks about his philosophy behind while on earth and how he’s scaling the brand as an influential leader in athletic performance wear and wellness; lessons from growing NOBULL from the ground up and building an engaged community; collaborating with elite athletes like Christian McCaffrey and launching authentic brand partnerships that actually move the needle; his insights on marketing, product launches, and entrepreneurship in the performance wellness space.

  • Eugene Alletto turned his $20 Rule into 33 Million Bedgear Customers
    Sep 16 2025

Eugene Alletto went from making cold calls in a Wolf of Wall Street style boiler room to building bedgear into a top-10 sleep industry brand serving 33+ million customers. In this episode, he shares the counterintuitive strategies that turned bedding from a commodity into a personalized science.

    Key Topics:

    • Why he avoids big box stores and focuses on trained salespeople instead
    • The "$20 shirt vs $2,500 suit" approach to testing business ideas
    • How 300+ patents protected his innovations from larger competitors
    • The four hiring values that built his company culture
    • Why eliminating emotional decision-making transformed his leadership
    • How his Italian last name predicted his destiny in the sleep business

    Business Lessons:

    • Start with small experiments, not big bets
    • List what you don't want to do, then delegate those tasks first
    • Distribution strategy matters more than product features
    • Protect your innovations early with patents and trademarks
    • Be proximity-ready for unexpected opportunities

Eugene breaks down how he turned a commodity market into a premium brand by solving real problems: spine alignment, temperature regulation, and personalized comfort. His mother's lesson about never playing the victim shaped both his personal resilience and business philosophy.

Whether you're bootstrapping a startup or scaling an existing business, Eugene's experience offers practical frameworks for building sustainable growth without burning through capital.

    Special thanks to our sponsors:

About a year ago I was working out of a co-working space with a private office and studio in West Hollywood, and honestly? It was fine but felt more like a college dorm than a professional workspace.

I'm running a full service brand strategy consultancy and production company, meeting with serious clients, and I realized the environment wasn’t on brand for me.

Then I discovered Industrious - and here's something that blew my mind: they're actually the world's largest premium flexible workspace, with over 200 locations across 10 countries. But they don't feel corporate or stuffy at all.

What really sets them apart is their approach…

Unlike traditional co-working spaces, Industrious operates more like a hotel management model. They partner directly with landlords to create these incredible spaces, and the difference is night and day. When I walk my clients through the doors now, I can see the immediate shift in how they perceive me and my company. There's this elevation in credibility that you just can't put a price on. And I'm not alone - their members consistently report feeling "proud to bring clients here" and that the space "elevates my own sense of self so I can do better work."

The flexibility is incredible - I can scale my space up or down based on my team's needs. And with locations worldwide, I've got options whether I'm in LA or traveling for business to NYC and across the world. If you're tired of working from home or that coffee shop and you want a space that reflects your ambitions and style, you owe it to yourself to check out Industrious.

Head to https://www.industriousoffice.com/ or send me a note and I’ll personally set up a VIP tour for you in an Industrious office near you.
