 During WWII, American radio served two primary functions: to keep the domestic audience informed about the war through news and commentary, and to boost the morale of troops abroad through dedicated broadcasts. Programs like "America Looks Abroad" and the "CBS World News Roundup" informed the public about the crisis in Europe, while the Armed Forces Radio Service (AFRS) provided entertainment to soldiers overseas.
