  • Happy 250th Birthday USA
    Jul 1 2026
HAPPY 250th Birthday America!! From 1776-2026, we’ve come a LONG way baby! Many aren’t satisfied with the current state of affairs. Many are filled with pride for being part of the greatest nation on earth, and so freedom goes. From our beginnings, dissent was present. Some wanted to maintain loyalty to the crown, others wanted to claim the Independence absent in their country of origin. Was it graceful then and now – Not always, but we are titled The United States of America. No matter what events have divided us, we have stood together in times of National pride and common crisis.

In tonight’s show, I will do my usual annual rant about the ills of personal fireworks, the history of 4th of July celebrations of the past, historical reminders of how this great nation was formed, and top it off with some appropriately Patriotic music – and our best wishes for a safe, happy holiday. Gratitude for the original Veterans, and every one throughout our history. Land of the Free, Because of the Brave.

Want to thank Veteran & Prayer Warrior, Dave Bray (davebrayusa.com) for his permission to use his Patriot Music. Dave was my guest for the June 24, 2020 show, found at my site inaflash.org

  • Jennifer Nice - The Evolution of Jennifer's TBI Recovery
    Jun 25 2026
Born and raised in Kennewick, Washington, Jennifer’s life changed forever in 1983 when a drunk driving accident at Columbia Park drastically altered her path. At just 18 years old, driving in her MG, she sustained a severe traumatic brain injury to her left frontal lobe. In an era when public and medical understanding of brain damage was in its infancy, Jennifer famously remembers, "I came out of the hospital thinking I was fine, but I wasn't."

Decades before the modern resources we have today, Jennifer had to navigate a world that didn't yet understand hidden injuries. Through sheer resilience, determination, and a passion for life, she rebuilt her world. Today, Jennifer lives in Portland, Oregon, with her dedicated husband, whom she married on June 1st, 1985. A lover of movement, family, and joy, she fills her days practicing Pilates, chasing fun adventures, and spending cherished time with her husband and daughter. Jennifer Nice joins us today to share her decades-long journey of survival, the evolution of TBI awareness, and what true resilience looks like.

After college, he went to work in corporate America and realized that despite doing well in the job, he wanted something more. He joined the Army later in life with the purpose of serving his Country. The Army taught him discipline and how to value himself. Together they also successfully ran a business for over two decades, selling travel gear and clothing.

  • Robert Brady Johnson - Veteran, Speaker, Author, Survivor
    May 21 2026
Over twenty years ago, while in the USAF, the doctor told Brady Johnson he didn’t have bad headaches. in fact, he had bleeding of the brain. He had brain surgery to correct an AVM; during which, he suffered a massive stroke. Brady was told he had Aphasia, and would never speak clearly again. In addition, he was told he wouldn't walk without aid, drive etc. Even now Brady cannot feel the right side of his body, though he uses it. He had to learn how to talk and walk again. The Doctors said Brady would never be able to have children, read, or work again. Miraculously, Brady was able to achieve everything the doctors told him he wouldn’t be able to do. His military training kicked in, and faith in God never wavered.

Today, Brady is the only hemiplegic bodybuilder that favorably competes with everyone else. In addition his book can be found on Amazon - A Life Of Commas: A Soldier's Story – R. Brady Johnson.

  • Larry Freeborg on Grief and Trauma
    Apr 9 2026
At age 40, life as Larry Freeborg knew it, ended in a single week. Just after Christmas in 1979, he lost his 39 year old wife to leukemia — and days later, his job of 18 years. Suddenly, he was a widowed father of four, with no income and no roadmap forward.

What followed wasn’t a quick recovery, but a decades-long journey of learning how to grieve, how to lead with love, and how to rediscover hope in the face of unimaginable loss. Along the way, he discovered a simple but powerful truth: no matter what life takes away, you are always at a choice.

Today, he is the author of “Always At Choice” and the founder of Stepping Through the Gate, a wise-elder coaching service. Through his writing and coaching, he helps individuals move from significant losses into a place of healing, renewal, and fully engaged life possibilities.

With the publication of Always At Choice, Larry’s mission is simple yet profound: to remind others that while loss changes everything, it never takes away the power to choose, to heal, to grow, and to live again.

  • From Surviving to Thriving: Reclaim Confidence, Joy & Purpose After TBI with Janet Schoen
    Apr 2 2026
Thirty years ago, a Traumatic Brain Injury left Janet (as most of us) feeling lost, frustrated, and unsure if she’d ever feel like 'me' again. Her struggles were many.

That transformation led Janet to fall in love with changing how she saw and thought about her life. Which turned into a passion to help others to achieve what I was doing. This led her to personal development and mindset coaching. Besides this, Janet also authored in Vol. 1 and Vol.4 of “Unstoppable!”, “The Coaches Toolkit”, and most recently, “EmpowerHER”. All of which are Best Sellers on Amazon! For more on Janet see: janetschoen.com
