  • Episode 287: "Flowers In The Ground"
    Jul 26 2025

Welcome Back 2Legs Faithful! As we close out another month, this week we are happy to share this episode with you, which we've called "Flowers In The Ground"!

We've discussed how these albums pair up against each other and if we had to make one album out of the two what would that album look like. Using the Beatles 14 songs per album approach we widdled Flowers and Off The Ground down and titled it "Flowers In The Ground"!"

We did this once with Tug of War/Pipes of Peace and we felt this would be a fun exercise to do. Many of our viewers/listeners feel strongly about this period in Paul's touring career, one that given his touring since 2002 has kind of fallen by the wayside despite having a really talented backing band with Hamish Stuart, Robbie McIntosh, Chris Witten, Blair Cunningham and of course the ever present Wix Wickens! What would your "Flowers In The Ground" look like? Let us know in the comments! This will be our final show until the Chicago FEST! See you there!

    Peace! Andy & Tom

  • Episode 284: Interview Archive Series | 1987 German Interview
    Jul 1 2025

    Welcome Back 2Legs Fam!

This week we present another Interview Archive Series with Macca. When we do this we try to cherry pick rare and not often seen/discussed interviews. It's late 1987. Paul is riding the wave of success of his 2nd career spanning compilation "All The Best!". He has also been making the rounds on TV shows in Europe to promote his top selling single 'Once Upon A Long Ago' (also included on the UK "All The Best!" only). In the (audio only) interview conducted by Stefan Schlabritz & Slizzy Bob we hear Paul joke about his skills in the german language, the tracks chosen for All The Best!, working with Elvis Costello and Chris Witten to start a new band, and Once Upon A Long Ago. He also discusses his Sgt. Pepper nostalgic pastiche "Return To Pepperland" and compares it with George's 'When We Was Fab'. Something not heard again much from Macca. He also outlines the vision for what will become "The Beatles Anthology" documentary was was only a few years away from happening.

We close out the episode with an alternate mimed performance of 'Once Upon A Long Ago' from the German TV Programme Wetten Das.

See you guys after the 4th of July!

    Peace Andy & Tom

  • Episode 283: "Press To Play: That Unmistakable 80s Sound" | With Luca Perasi
    Jun 15 2025

    Hello Everyone!

Joining us this week is our friend, author and journalist Luca Perasi! As he celebrates the publication of his latest work "Press To Play | That Unmistakable 80s Sound" chronicling the "hot take" "Love It or Hate It" record that divides McCartney fans nearly 40 years later! One of the more significant people Luca was able to interview for the book was esteemed 1980s Producer Hugh Padgham (Genesis/The Police/Phil Collins) among many others. We know the relationship and direction over the album took many turns and misunderstandings, especially where Eric Stewart comes into the picture. Luca brings up many hypothesis' for these missteps.

The book also takes a very detailed technical approach with the album including detail on instruments used as well as the key people that worked on the album (Arrangers, Other Musicians etc). Luca also does a fine job of contextualising the 1980s Pop Culture zeitgeist through the mediums of video games and technology. Congrats again to Luca on his latest book! Let us know in the comments below if you've bought it and are reading it!

  • Episode 282: Chaos and Creation At Abbey Road
    Jun 5 2025

    Welcome Back 2Legs Fam!

It's been nearly 20 years since Paul's latter day 21st Century Masterpiece Chaos and Creation In The Backyard. Where did that time go? To accompany and promote the record Paul held an intimate gathering of fans and friends at Abbey Road, recorded in Studio 2 to demonstrate some of the creative processes that he and The Beatles used to employ there and have a bit of fun along the way. Filmed on 28 July 2005 and originally broadcast on BBC2 17 December 2005 and PBS in the USA 27th February 2006 and directed by Simon Hilton "Chaos And Creation At Abbey Road" provides such an intimate glimpse of Macca at work playing familiar tunes in a whole new arrangement ('Band On The Run', 'Lady Madonna', 'I've Got A Feeling') among several from the forthcoming album which dropped in September of that year. Did you watch this upon initial release? or when it was bundled in the CD set? Let us know in the comments below!

We love deep dives back into stuff like this!

    We hope you do too!

    Peace Andy and Tom

  • Episode 281: Interview Series | Countdown 1977
    May 22 2025

This week on 2Legs (amidst the brand new touring rumours, and Babs dropping her duet on 'My Valentine' with Macca) we are pleased to revisit the Interview Series - where we dissect a rare and not often seen interview with Paul. On this episode we chose the 1977 Interview from an Australian TV program titled "Count Down."

This recently surfaced on YouTube and to see the late 70s Wings trio ensconced in the privacy of #2 Studio at Abbey Road is pretty cool to witness. They appear bored at times (Denny especially) but Paul and Linda give some good sound bites here about what's to come.

This was mainly used as a promotional tool for the then current single 'Mull of Kintyre.' The gentlemen interviewing Wings is Molly Meldrum. Orignally broadcasted on 24th December 1977.

And we like Paul music post-1981, sorry not sorry!

    Peace Andy & Tom
