    Weekly Check-In Podcast | Episode 1 – 2026

Welcome to the first Weekly Check-In Podcast of 2026 — and the first episode in over four months (sorry… life happened).

In this episode, I catch up with you and share a real, honest update on what’s been going on behind the scenes. I talk about moving house, how I’ve been feeling lately, and why working too hard for too long can be damaging to our mental health. I also reflect on the importance of slowing down, checking in with ourselves, and finding a healthier balance between work and wellbeing.

I finish the episode by sharing some plans, intentions, and hopes for the year ahead — both personally and with the podcast.

This weekly check-in podcast is all about honest conversations, mental health awareness, and reminding you that you’re not alone.

I forgot to add the song of the week! i will add that on the next one!

you can send your questions in to Askmyhpodcast@gmail.com it would be great to hear from you!

This week’s checkin is a little different, instead of work and long drives, it’s been all about family. I’ve had the boys with me all week and we’ve packed in bike rides, camping (even if it was just outside the flat!), football, laughs, and plenty of food stops.

It’s been a busy one in a whole new way, and I’ve loved every minute of it. I talk about the highs and challenges of being a dad, what I’ve been learning about myself through therapy, and why this week has felt like real progress.

Plus, I’m introducing a new feature: my Song of the Week. This time it’s Killeagh by Kingfishr which you can also find on the brand-new Weekly Check-in playlist on Spotify.

This week’s check-in is packed with road trips, family time, and a few big reflections. From driving across the country for the Lighthouse, to a father-and-son adventure in Scarborough with fish and chips, camping, and plenty of laughs, it’s been non-stop!

I also wrap up my latest round of therapy and share some of the lessons I’ve learned about looking after myself while making time for the people who matter most.

It’s been busy, it’s been memorable, and it’s another reminder that balance is everything. Grab a brew, tune in, and let’s catch up!

    Episode 2 – Weekly Check-In | Gardening, Therapy & Punctures

In this solo episode of The MYHP Weekly Check-In, I’m catching you up on everything that’s gone on this week – from road trips and Rachel’s birthday to gardening, therapy, and a whole load of bike punctures.

I talk about how gardening has become a big part of slowing down and finding balance in my life, why I sometimes struggle to see progress in my work now compared to my bricklaying days, and how therapy continues to help me make sense of things.

I also share a moment of realisation from a recent session, and why I’m taking a short break to reflect and rebuild.

There’s some frustration too – like Thursday being a write-off after audio issues with the main podcast edit, but getting out on the bike helped turn things around.

Thanks for all your continued support and feedback – it means the world.

    Hi Everyone

this is a new section i am trying out. i thought it would be a good idea for me to do a weekly check in with you all. i really enjoy making this style of podcast and the last solo episode went down so well, i thought why not! don't worry the full podcasts will still be done!

I'm going to talk about how my week has been and what i have been upto. i will realise them on a friday at about 15:30 for your drive home or where ever you go on a friday after work.

i want you all to get involved with the episodes but i won't be promoting them across all the other social media and they will be audio only so they are nice and quick to turn around. Also its a bit of a thank you to all of the people that have downloaded the podcast and message me about the pod saying how you enjoy the audio on the drive to and from work.

Speaking of messages i have set up a new email address just for this section of The MYH Podcast. if you want me to talk about anything or replay to anything i have spoken about on an episode i would love to hear from you.

    askmyhpodcast@gmail.com

hope you all enjoy this little section and i look forward to hearing from you all soon.

    thanks

    Rob
