Description
The long-awaited new novel by "the class act of the urban thriller" (Entertainment Weekly)
Paul Reeves is a successful immigration lawyer, but his passion is collecting old maps of New York, tangible records of the city's rich history in an increasingly digital world. One afternoon he attends an auction with his neighbor Jennifer Mehraz, the beautiful young wife of an Iranian financier-lawyer, but halfway through the auction a handsome man in soldier fatigues appears in the aisle and whisks Jennifer away.
A long-lost lover from Jennifer's rural Pennsylvania past, the man sets off a series of alarming events as those close to Jennifer try to figure out who he is and how the two are connected, including her high-powered and possessive husband, whose ultimate goal is to make this embarrassing intrusion into his marriage disappear.
At the same time, one of the world's rarest and most inaccessible maps suddenly goes on sale, but before Paul can finalize a deal, another buyer snatches it out from under Paul's nose, sending him on a quest to find out who the mysterious buyer is and how to get the map for himself.
Eight years after his last critically acclaimed thriller, The Finder, Colin Harrison returns with You Belong to Me. Filled with compelling characters and a loving but biting satire of New York City, You Belong to Me is an exceptional audiobook, and Colin Harrison is at the top of his game.

It's a man's book
More a thriller than a mystery. Plenty of action, written with "this will REALLY gross them out!" glee, which this middle-aged lady found a bit overwhelming. Characterization of women was flat. He was smart, using brains while the action took place around him. It was not really to my taste.

What women speak like this?
I really wanted to like this book. The story was interesting, even the characters, but he writes the women so poorly. I finally had to give up - the dialogue from Paul Reeve's girlfriend put me over the edge. Bummer!

An Absorbing New York City Narrative
What made the experience of listening to You Belong to Me the most enjoyable?
I just happened to read a review of this in the New York Times when I came out and I thought to myself, "That sounds interesting". And it was. It made me really miss New York.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
I was curious as to how all these threads would be brought together, so i stayed up late listening after I had listened to the book on my way home in the car. When an author does that for me, it is a very pleasing experience.
What about Robert Petkoff’s performance did you like?
Narrator did a nice job but what carried my interest was the story itself.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes.
Any additional comments?
It's great to stumble upon something like this with no warning.

Still worth reading
Clearly this author has issues with women, but if you can get past that, it's a good read. The writing is crisp and intelligent and the narrator was good. The story takes interesting twists and turns and I liked learning about historical maps.

Perfection
Between the rich combination of tightly engrossing storyline and gifted narration, this work is much more than any synopsis could describe. A pure delight

Some Fun Here.
Okay, people do dumb things in this story. But there are nifty twists, and at least one's kind of grisly. Nobody much to like in this ensemble but I liked the tale. Petkoff and Harrison are a good team and I'll spend another credit on them taking me into an adventure escape.

Deftly Done
There is so much to like in this audiobook. The narrator may be the most skillful I have experienced. The story is multilevel with humor, suspense and fascinating details about history and art. And all of it so well written. You will love it!

Map & NYC History Buff
As someone who is both fascinated by the history of New York City, and old maps, this book had me from page one. Great story, references, etc. Colin really nailed this. Thank you!

Engaging but somewhat predictable towards the end.
Fine writing and first rate narration make this a worthwhile read. More like these please.
