This audiobook can be listened to as a standalone, there is NO cliffhanger. The other audiobooks in the series are also standalone's but are best read in order for a more enjoyable listening experience. There is a plot that travels all three audiobooks and is technically resolved in book three, but it is not necessary to be read to feel like each audiobook has a conclusion. Each audiobook follows a different couple, while still bringing back the faces from the last audiobook(s) until the world's problems are solved.
