Description
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Kristen Ashley brings a new story in her Chaos series...
“You know you can’t keep a good brother down.”
The Chaos Motorcycle Club has won its war. But not every brother rode into the sunset with his woman on the back of his bike.
Chaos returns with the story of Dutch Black, a man whose father was the moral compass of the Club, until he was murdered. And the man who raised Dutch protected the Club at all costs. That combination is the man Dutch is intent on becoming.
It’s also the man that Dutch is going to go all out to give to his woman.
**Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new listeners, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you'll enjoy each one as much as we do.**

No Angst
Do you know those books that are just good stories? That don’t have too much crazy, or too much arguing, or too much angst? I love those books.
This was that book. And I definitely want Caroline to get her redemption with Jager 😍

The narrator....
He's not bad, but his voice sounds older than the character. I would've gone with Teddy Hamilton, Jacob Morgan or Zachary Webber for this one.

Not KA's best.
Kristen Ashley has always been one of my favorite authors. However, as of late her Chaos books seem to be produced from the same template. The only thing this story was missing was a kidnapping. KA's novellas are generally a full fleshed out story. This seemed to a situation of "I've got to get this done so let me throw something together". It's not that this was a novella, it's just that it wasn't a solid story. Not sure how/when Dutch and Georgie found chemistry--this has always been one of KA's strengths and it's missing here.
As well, not sure what was going on with 'language' the young Black characters spoke. I appreciate the diversity of her characters (those who read KA know she is not an author who has been recently woke by current events) but I know no young Black people who speak like that.
It was nice to touch base with characters we know and love but sometimes their appearances seemed to be forced as if they were on a checklist and had to be mentioned.
I love KA's writings, maybe I'm off and this is why my review is not better than it is, I'm looking forward to the writing style KA is capable of giving.

Not much depth
Love the author but this book felt under developed & rushed. Only one of her books I would not listen to again or recommend.

Not as good as I hoped
Although I know this is a novella, it was missing a lot. There was no chemistry, and it was complete insta love. Also why are all of her African American characters portrayed as loud and obnoxious? The narrators were good.

Great check-in to the Chaos family
This was the Dutch Black’s story and it was great to return to the world of the Chaos MC and see how everyone was doing. I’m not sure how to describe this book really because even though they started out a little rocky due to the timeline it really was insta-love. Georgiana is a perfect match for Dutch and I loved seeing him get his HEA. John Hartley and Stella Bloom were fantastic and brought this book to life in the best way. Loved it!

Chaos+Dutch=💕
Good story and I can’t wait for the next one! Only thing I wasn’t fond of was the reference to ‘white fat cats’. Really not cool KA-I think the less we tear each other down, the sooner we can heal what has gone so wrong. I don’t want to experience that attitude while enjoying a fictional book!

Not for me
The narrators were good. Story very flat. More action and depth. Not for me. I’d like to know how many times the word “f___” was used. I’m not offended by it but don’t think using it as often as it is was helpful to the story.

I love KA but this one…
was hard to listen to and the narrator, no. I am not a fan at all and I know it had a huge impact on listening to this. If he and Stella Bloom read together, it may have been a lot more enjoyable.

Disappointed. Story 3☆ :/ BUT love story 5☆
This book, to me, felt very rock chick. Aka more an easy fluff story to tell, than one of the harder chaos stories. Even tho the plot allowed for more. Kristen built the story up well, but then, it seems she decided to blow that build up in the wind and go the easy route with everything kind of fixing itself, making sure we saw our favourite characters for fanservice. I was pretty exited bc I think Black and Kelly's boys have such an interesting and complicated upbringing and backstory that's bound to leave them conflicted to some degree, but yeah.
The love story was built well and the two are a match made in heaven. I really enjoyed them, and their healthy sweet relationship. Dutch like all of KA's Boys was protective, but not overly so, he recognised that Georgie has her own abilities and is a capable woman so instead of cutting her out to protect her, they decided to work side by side, as a team. Because to him they are equals, and he respects her choices as hers.
Very sweet, the relationship was so so much more that i could have hooed for, but the story, while the build up was great turned into the "safe route" to end it
