Description
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Kristen Ashley brings a new story in her Chaos series...
When he was sixteen years old, Jagger Black laid eyes on the girl who was his. At a cemetery. During her mother’s funeral.
For years, their lives cross, they feel the pull of their connection, but then they go their separate ways.
But when Jagger sees that girl chasing someone down the street, he doesn’t think twice before he wades right in. And when he gets a full-on dose of the woman she’s become, he knows he finally has to decide if he’s all in or if it’s time to cut her loose.
She’s ready to be cut loose.
But Jagger is all in.
**Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new listeners, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you'll enjoy each one as much as we do.**
Commentaires
“John Hartley's low, rolling narration sinks into Jagger Black's wrenching sadness over the murder of his father.... Hartley's soft intensity reflects Jagger's state of raw grief when he first meets Archie at the cemetery where his dad is buried.... Stella Bloom narrates a few chapters from Archie's point of view, sounding both frank and cute.” (AudioFile Magazine)

Kind of Boring
There was not really much to this book. There is no push and pull, there is no suspense, there is no real story, there kind of is nothing. Jagger is in his head about his feelings, and Archie is this super cool, super together chick. There is no real chemistry, there is no build up, there is again, nothing. The narration was ok, but that's it, just ok. There was only a few chapters from her point of view, but it was mainly told from Jagger's POV. This could have a big pass for me.

Love the story but....
the male narrator just doesn't fit the character; don't get me wrong, he is good, great, even, but Jag is in his twenties, and the narrator sounds way older than that, so his voice took me out of the fantasy at times. Other than that, I'll always love KA

Disappointed
Kristen Ashley is my all time favourite author, so I've enjoyed most of her books. This story however, didn't do it for me. I'm normally someone who is so captivated with the story that I can't put it down and I can't wait to hear what happens next. I'm not sure if it's the male narrator or if it's a combination of both the narrator and story that's not doing it for me.
I appreciate the various subject matters brought up in this novel, it just didn't resonate much with like Kristen's stories usually do. Have to say, didn't expect this at all. Especially since this was a highly anticipated release within the series.

This is difficult for me to write.
I love Kristen Ashley. I have re-listened to most of her books at least a dozen times. I have re-listened to her early books because they are fun, romantic, and suspenseful. That being said, I have difficulty listening to her more recent books all the way through even once because they are frustrating and dull. Instead of action suspense, there is psychological angst. The characters are stick figures and without appeal. I don’t know why her books have changed. I only know that the joy I used to have reading/listening and, especially, seeing that a new book was out, is gone. I’m so sorry that my favorite author for escapist literature is no longer someone that I will look forward to seeing publish a new book.

Heartfelt story, very good performance
I love Kristen Ashley's writing, her characters, and her stories. This is a heartfelt novella primarily about Jagger and Archie. The performance is very good.

So disappointing
I have enjoyed many of Kristen Ashley’s books but this one was not one of them. The male narrator was over dramatic and the story line was just, well, boring.

Narrator ruined this listen.
I love KA. I especially love her Chaos series. This narrator is overly dramatic and tries to use different voices for the various characters. He cannot do female characters - his attempts are horrendous. Finally, narrating main character is a 27 year old biker. This narrator sounds scratchy, middle aged and screeches outrageously while attempting female dialog. Read the novel and skip the audible on this one.

FAMILY OF THE BLOOD AND THE CHOSEN
loved this journey with Jagger and Archie.. from the very beginning I was all in .. ready to ride out and feel the emotional roller coaster with this perfect pair. KA delivers one of her best in the chaos series.. I laughed, I cried and found myself twisted with apprehension and thrills of old characters on the scene and the new fun and unique personalities she introduced us to. A Must read for the die hards and a great series to start with for those new to Kristen Ashley's world .. esp if you love Alpha Bad asses !
