When Sofia sets out from South America to start a new life in the States, she is forced to leave young Manny and Isobel behind until she can afford to send for them. To her disappointment, Sofia soon discovers evil is just as prevalent in her new country as it was in her home country. Working at a hotel, Sofia sees numerous children she suspects are being held there against their will. After Sofia meets Hector, the hotel’s maintenance man, she devises a plan with him to help the most vulnerable. But will she jeopardize her own citizenship status?
