🌻I was actually yelling out loud, at the characters and author of this book!🌻

I bought this trilogy as a collection but, I attempted to review the individual books, as I finished them; audible would not allow it, since only the collection, not the individual books are in my library.

First, during book one, all I could think was, “ this girl is too stupid to live,”. Especially a girl who grew up in the mafia world. Granted, the character is supposed to be only 20 years old but, I don’t even think I’ve met a 13 year old as clueless as this 20 year old. Had audible not decided that I’ve returned too many books, lately ( unbelievable) I would have returned this collection.

Book 2, the heroine infuriated me because she wouldn’t own her own shit; a lesson I learned at age 12. I even had to skip some chapters.

Book three, I found myself screaming at the author, “GET ON WITH IT, DAMMIT!” Book three and the H and h, who are married, have not had sex yet. I’m all for a slow burn, WITHIN REASON!!!!!

THERE WAS SO MUCH UNNECESSARY ANGST AND THE STORY WAS SO FRUSTRATING THAT, MY NORMALLY ENJOYABLE ESCAPE, WAS ABSOLUTELY NOT.

I’m honestly baffled at some of the reviews. Especially some of the reviewers that I normally count on for a good recommendation, let me down. Only the last two or three chapters were worth my time to even listen to.

UNLESS YOU ARE A LISTENER THAT THRIVES ON UNNECESSARY ANGST, TRUST ME, KEEP YOUR CREDIT, CHOOSE SOMETHING ELSE!

Good Story BUT Too Much Internal Dialog

I enjoyed the story but found myself fast fowarding though characters' conversations because a single comment was constantly followed by internal dialog that was much longer than the entire conversarion. I am assuming it is why this 3 part story was 30 hours long. A five second comment followed by 1-2 minutes of thoughts, then another character replies to the comment, followed by 1-2 minutes of more thoughts dragged out a 2 minute conversation into ten minutes. BORNING!

Additionally, the prideful female character continuing to believe lies for so long through the story made her seem weak- I prefer female characters that are more indepedent and confident.

Most Beautiful Love Story

The White Monarch Trilogy is by far the best audiobook I have listened to. The love between Christiano and Natalia had intrigue, love, suspense, and many twists and turns. The sexual portions were just the right amount. The author, Jessica Hawkins, brought the audiobook to life with a unique writing style of love and hate. I will definitely listen to this book again. The narrators were perfect for the characters.

The last book in the series of three is the best

Even in boredom, I would not re- read either of the first two books of this series - the litmus test for any good story. Perhaps that's why the three books were combined.

Regardless, Brian Pallino is a powerful male narrator, and made the last book endurable.

Better than expected

I was just trying to find something to idly listen to but it turned out to be a better book than expected. Some parts were cliche but overall pretty good.

Top notch narration + good writing.

I hesitated on this and am so glad I went for it in the end. The narration is excellent, especially the late Brian Pallino (AKA Angelo Di Loreto). If I would have realized this was the same Narrator + accent from The Murmur of Bees I would have blindly listened from that alone. His narration of strong Mexican men is always beyond amazing. He was one of those narrators that could make a bad book good and authentically nails various accents. So when the book itself is also good it hits another level with him. So listen to this book because the story is action packed and steamy or because the narration will knock your panties off. Either way it’s a win regardless.

Fantastic

This trilogy kept me on my seat the entire way. I stopped to think a couple times only to have it cleared up later. Will definitely keep an eye out for similar stories. Bravo

ok story, awful female over thinking, weak

Awful female, weak but thinks she's strong. female voice was half whispering half smoker voice bad combo, why? why? why? Not sexy, she really hurt to listen to, hard to finish. I will never buy another emma wilder audible book.
