Peter and Veronica Michelbach immigrated to Arizona from Germany, where they homesteaded on beautiful Hart Prairie on the San Francisco Peaks near Flagstaff. Ruth Jordan realized her dream to teach in a one-room schoolhouse, killing rattlesnakes on the side! After her marriage, she and her husband purchased a homestead near Sedona, Arizona.
With each story of these remarkable women, the author has paired a complementary humorous short story about the "Good ol' Days" in Arizona, written by the author's father in the 1960s and '70s.
