Description

Speechless
Wow. I’ve read several hundreds of books and have to say this 5-part series is my top 5 of all time. I didn’t want it to end. I can’t wait for Avery’s story!

Amazing story!
Third time reading, first time listening to the series. No one does taboo/forbidden romance like Lucia. If you haven’t read/listened to Off Balance yet, WTH are you waiting for?! Read it. It’ll change your life forever

Couldn't stop listening!
This series is amazing! I listened to it straight through because I was so enthralled. This book broke me. I don't know how much more my heart can take. This cliffhanger was the worst yet! Thank goodness I don't have to wait for the last book.

My favorite series ever!
I absolutely love Kova and Ria. I have read the series multiple times and now love listening to it on audible. This is one of those series that runs deep into your soul and you’ll never forget it. It’s like nothing I’ve ever read before. It’s a beautiful emotional roller coaster age gap love story that is written to perfection. I truly believe nothing will ever top this series for me!!!

Still gripped!
This is the first book review I am writing, this book has left me breathless. The whole series…the author so skillfully weaves you in and out of sinful lust, desire, pain and heartache. Both excited and scared to see how their story ends!

Incredible Story of Forbidden Love
“Twist” is the fourth installment in the “Out of Bounds” series of books. You must read these books in order to follow the complicated story line.
This is a terrifically entertaining series. Most readers will laugh, cry, worry, and cry some more throughout this twisting-turning story of an elite-level teenage gymnast (Adrianna) training for her shot at the US Olympic gymnastics team. She trains about 12 hours per day at a Georgia-based facility owned by a Russian gymnastics gold medalist (Konstantin/“Kova”) who is 31-32 years old at the beginning of the book series.
Next, I’ll try to avoid any spoilers…
After Adrianna joins the gymnastics program, an incredibly successful coaching relationship — and then a romance — develops over 3-4 years between her and her coach, Kova. The taboo element in the plot is the age gap between coach and student, and the fact that Adrianna is 16. There is no coercion or force involved in the books — all relationships are consensual.
The books are well-written, with complex plots lines and unexpected turns. The author is also to be commended for her thorough knowledge of gymnastics as a sport, the grueling elite-level gymnastics training programs in the US, and especially the vernacular. Stellar research and/or individual experience must have guided the writing of the books in this series.
Unfortunately, the entire plot line running through these books rests on the claim that in the State of Georgia, Adrianna is considered a “minor” at 16 and is unable to consent to a sexual relationship with a person over the age of 18. This is entirely untrue. In Georgia, like in many US states, the age of consent is 16. If Adrianna consents and is at least 16, there is no legal case for statutory rape or non-consensual sex. As a result of this error in the books, the intense fear of “being discovered” that drives most of the main characters’ behavior looks ridiculous.
Even after Adrianna turns 18, her father continues to refer to her as “a minor with no say” in decisions about her life. A person in the US reaches the age of majority at 18. Again, this is such an obvious miss in the plot line development that most readers will wonder what all the fuss is about. The errors about the legal age of consent and majority truly detract from the believability of the story.
Regardless, I highly recommend this series of books! They are very entertaining and engaging if you can forget that no laws are actually being broken by the main characters.
