Great recipe for life!

Step by step guide to being the best version of you and to living the life you dream of. My only regret is that it is not narrated by Jack himself.

Game Changer!

What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?

Success Principle 1. Absolutely no complaining or blaming. The place you are in life is because of your actions alone. This is great because you then have the power to make the changes you want.

Any additional comments?

If a person could only learn one book in their life it needs to be this! I don't recommend you go through it....devour it! Should be required reading in schools every year beginning in the 4th grade through PhD. If that actually occurred, the world would be a dramatically better place.

Anyone can benefit as this addresses how a person becomes their best self in all aspects from financial to relationships to work satisfaction.

Where most books are short this is long but not long winded. Instead of being a summary of paradigms as books often are today The Success Principles gets into detail of how to make changes.

The only disappointment is that for Jack Canfield is not the narrator. Danny Campbell does a fine job but if you have listened to Mr. Canfield's other books with him as the speaker then you know how he has a terrific delivery with a voice inflection that is more true to what the book is going for. The word perfect is used far too often but I would say the only thing keeping this book from perfection is that Jack is not the narrator.

I cannot say enough positive things. Since reading The Success Principles my business has doubled in size! I encourage people to get both the audio book version to listen to while in the car and the Kindle/paper version to read so the visual part of your brain is also exposed to the information. Quit reading this review and buy the book!

I consider Jack to be a living legend and this book is a gift to share with everyone you care about. I'm giving it to everyone I know as Birthday gifts. It really is that good!

NOT Read by Jack Canfield

What did you like best about The Success Principles(TM) - 10th Anniversary Edition? What did you like least?

I owned the audio book of the Success Principles for many years and loved that Jack Canfield was reading the book. I was so very excited to see a 10th anniversary edition and pre-ordered it. When the download finished I was sorely disappointed that it was not Jack Canfield who was reading the book, but rather another narrator. The narrator was technically ok, but gone was the enthusiasm and the vocal inflection that was unique to the author that made the original Success Principles recording what it was. It just felt so much less passionate and fell quite flat to my listening ear. In the book, Jack talks about giving feedback; well here is mine: Jack, please never do that again. Never allow someone else to read your work when it is your voice and your direct narration that sells you and your work best.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Jack Canfield

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

The narrator is not the author and sounds unenthusiastic and lacks authenticity.

Was The Success Principles(TM) - 10th Anniversary Edition worth the listening time?

Yes. However, I am very disappointed that the narrator was not Jack Canfield and hearing someone else read The Success Principles was a shock.

Any additional comments?

Jack Canfield needs to read his own audio books and not entrust this to any other narrator.

Great book but. NOT great narrator

Love the book, truly inspiring, with helpful references and golden nuggets! However, I wasn't too fond with the narrator because he got mixed up between she/he. Highly recommended!

Great book, relevant to today's technology

This book was very inspiring and provided great tools and insights for everyday success. It has been updated to include many of the tools now relevant in this ever changing world of technology that can be highly useful for those looking to grow professionally or launch and grow a business. I loved the fact that he not only presented the idea or resources but gave specific examples you can reference. Highly recommended!

Life Hack Book

This book has everything one needs to begin their success journey. It also has a lot of what our society is missing today. Even some of the smallest and basic principles that we overlook everyday, such as only turning on our phones to receive or make a call, can be life changing. This book should be in schools all over, you should buy it for your kids, loved ones, coworkers, just about anyone you know that is looking for a transformation, a starting point or even a life refresher. This is a must have for everyone’s library. I can’t recommend it enough. Share & share!

Interesting, but a little too much whoo-ing

Generally, I like this audiobook and it offers a lot of insight to improve yourself. Alone the advice to take full responsibility for your actions and their outcomes is a powerful one and can change your life when you truly follow that advice, rather than just saying "yeah alright, I take responsiblity - so what now?"

However, one major thing I really don't like about this book is the - in my opinion - completely eggerated use of examples and so-called inspirational stories. The book is full of these to the point where I just keep thinking "I GOT IT!!!! Can we please move on to the next success principle, please?!" (because after all, it is about these principles). If the principles were mentioned right at the start and then Canfield would talk about them in-depth, ok. But you always have to listen to just one more example, and not just for the success principles. "Many people think they're too old to learn something or pick up a hobby" - and then you get to hear 30 minutes about all sorts of people who ran marathons in their late sixties, earned college degrees in their late nineties, etc. Yes, this can be inspirational, some of these stories are really interesting - but I listen to this audiobook for the success principles. I don't want to listen to one of the success principles for three minutes and then listen to closely related examples for the next 40 minutes. For me, this is kind of ruining the book.

Also, some of the examples are just not completely true or profound enough. Canfield talks about the law of attraction. As proof that your thoughts can alter your physical reality, he mentions the example where you think about a friend only to receive a call from that friend shortly after. Going at it from the other perspective - that happens probably once every few months to once every two years. What about the numerous times where I think of a friend without receiving a call or text from them? Or when I receive a text from someone without having thought of them? Following Canfields logic, that should be proof that my thoughts cannot alter my physical reality.

Another one is Tim Ferriss' national Chinese martial arts championship: Certainly it takes a lot of work to pull something like that off in only a few months and I admire Tim Ferriss for his books, his podcast and his achievements. But Canfield made it sound like Ferriss became some sort of master within a short amount of time. In reality, he used some loopholes that state that you lose in case your opponent pushes you out of the fighting area a few times in a row. Also, he used some special dehydration-weightloss-strategy so that he weighed quite a few pounds less when his opponents were chosen for him. Then he re-gained that weight within a day or two so that by the time the fight started, he was technically in a different weight class (and he could use his weight to push his opponent out of the ring). Despite the discipline and training he certainly invested, he did not win the title due to his enormous fighting skills (as the book suggests), but because he fought ugly and used a few strategies and techniques that some might consider cheating. Now I'm thinking: If that story is exaggerated to make it sound a lot more inspirational than it actually is - what other stories are blown up like this?

Resume: The success principles are powerful principles that can definitely improve your life (even though I don't think that you read the book, follow the principles and then have seven companies and a net-worth of twenty million dollars one year later, though most of the examples sound like that [I know, if you think you can do it your brain will help you achieve that - still, it's certainly not the average success story of someone following these principles]). Generally, the book is interesting and worth listening to. However, I think that the examples and success stories are way too much and kind of take away the fun - at least for someone who wants to learn the principles and is out for "information in a nutshell" rather than a book full of inspiring stories that contain some information here and there.

Good ideas, but too much rambling and advertising

Positive: The basic principles in the book offer good ideas on how to start organising your path towards a new business/career/dream aim. I listened to it twice, noted down the somewhat 15 ideas I found useful and left the rest out of my memory. Keep the core, delete the unnecessary "noise". I would say, try it.

Negative/Did not work for me:
I found the stories, used as examples, simply too many. And there was lots of unnecessary repetition, which after a certain point became tiring.
My opinion (not necessarily anybody else's): The book is very "U.S.American", follows the USA business "philosophy", too much enthusiasm, too much money-oriented and investing-oriented/how to make money without working, supposed to inspire you with others' inspirational stories; does not work for me. I kept what works for me and damped the rest.

I´m surprised

He is famous, many people say he is great... but basically, this book is to sell himself, his business, his friends´ businesses, and to inflate his ego in "look how good I am".
From the almost 22 hours, I would say only 2 hours are kind of good and one can do something with it. All the rest, are just stories of other people and publicity.

And why only "kind of good"? because for him "success" means material wealth. I don´t remember if he said at the beginning that success means also other kind of wealth (it´s such a long listening, and so boring with so many "small stories", that I lost interest and track, and I can´t remember what he said many hours before), but if he said that, it was a small sentence at the beginning and having nothing to do with the rest of the book. He focussed in gaining material wealth.
Which, for most people that is what they want. But not for me. For me it was a terribly boring book and I couldn´t take anything positive out of it, other than the feeling of making the people to become more greedy.
