Description

I won my first fight when I was 11 years old, and I've been throwing punches ever since. Fighting is the purest, truest, most elemental thing there is. Some people describe heaven as a sea of unending white, where choirs sing and loved ones await. But for me, heaven was something else. It sounded like the bell at the beginning of a round, and it tasted like adrenaline. For me, heaven was the octagon.

Until I met Millie, and heaven became something different. I became something different. I knew I loved her when I watched her stand perfectly still in the middle of a crowded room, people swarming, buzzing, slipping around her. No one seemed to see her at all except for the few who squeezed past her, tossing exasperated looks at her unsmiling face. When they realized she wasn't normal, they hurried away. Why was it that no one saw her, yet she was the first thing I saw?

If heaven was the octagon, then she was my angel at the center of it all, the girl with the power to take me down and lift me up again. The girl I wanted to fight for, the girl I wanted to claim. The girl who taught me that sometimes the biggest heroes go unsung, and the most important battles are the ones we don't think we can win.

Not My Favorite! Spoilers*****

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

No. I do not enjoy books with dark subject matters. I kept reading and hoping that the circumstances of the characters would change.

What was most disappointing about Amy Harmon’s story?

I read/listen to books for enjoyment and good romance, and I wish authors would let the readers know when that would not be the case. I do not enjoy books with subject matters that focuses on a life-altering events. I was expecting a happily ever after - that did not happen. I couldn't get lost in the story without hurting. This was a sad sad tale of what would never be. There was no great miracle. Moses, the main character in the first installment, was the main character in this book (that annoyed me). The book reflected on Tag's life through Moses' POV, and Tag's POV up to a certain point in the book. The story did not share Tag's love interest POV (quite annoying). So if you enjoy stories that reflect on the events of the story, telling you what took place, as opposed to showing you, then this book is for you. It is also for you if you enjoy stories that deal with a terminal illness! This was not fo rme

My expectation for this one was way too high...

I thought I would enjoy this, since I LOVED the first book in this series...I was wrong. It was pretty flat and I didn't enjoy even half as much. Ugh...a bit of a disappoint.

5 The Song of David Stars

If you read The Law of Moses and had any thought as to what Tag is up to then you want to read this book.

I will say it’s good and we get Moses back and in his own voice! So that was a nice surprise.
The story of Tag and Millie is sweet and sad and wonderful. It is an Amy Harmon book so you know there is going to be some heart-wrenching parts.

Millie, I just enjoyed that she was so different from other “heroines” and that she stays the same person even when love finds her. I think that is what I loved best about this book.

I won’t say I hated the ending I think it was left up to us to interpret it however we wanted and that was different. For me, I would rather have the definitive answer versus our own interpretation but again that is just me.

Loved the narration, so glad they got J.D to come back and be Moses again that just added that little extra in my opinion.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

Not A Happy Ending

What would have made The Song of David better?

A Happy Ending.

What was most disappointing about Amy Harmon’s story?

The Ending.

Have you listened to any of JD Jackson and Zachary Webber ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I'm sure I have. The performance in this audio was perfect.

What character would you cut from The Song of David?

None.

Any additional comments?

Fix / Change the Ending!

I'm hate that I've finished this book.

I loved "The Law of Moses" and downloaded "The Song of David" right after I finished Moses. I kept passing "David" up to listen to others in my library. Why, why did I wait so long? Thank you Amy Harmon for writing this book. Tag, Millie and Henry were written so well, I could see them in my mind and could swear they were sitting next to me in the car as I listened to this book. I was mesmerized by the narrators, especially Mr. Webber as David. He brought Tag to life for me and I enjoyed every moment.

Tearjerker!!

I started to like Tag in The Book of Moses but fell in love with him in The Song Of David. He was a loyal friend, kind hearted, and sweet. His struggle for life gripped me so hard. Millie and Tag's love was amazing to watch blossom, but the ending threw me for a loop. Amy why did you do this to me I couldn't stop crying at the ending so sad. This book is a must listen.

Muss man natürlich mögen.
