Description

Eighteen months after Natalie Gray loses her husband, Bernie, in a horrific hit-and-run accident, she finds love with his best friend, Ed Cooper, and moves into his home with her teenage daughter, Scarlett. But she begins to suspect Ed has a dark side - and even darker intentions. Natalie must get her troubled child to a safer place, but when Scarlett starts to hear voices coming from the empty apartment next door it seems she has unwittingly moved them into the heart of danger.

DCI Tom Douglas is also chasing the truth. As his investigation into the suicide of a teenage girl draws him ever closer to Natalie and Scarlett, will he be too late to protect them from the threat they face or from the truths that will tear their lives apart?

One of my absolute favorites!

More, more, more from Rachel, please. Intricate story that winds and weaves a mystery unlike other audiobooks. One of my absolute favorites! Highly recommended. There were a few Audible technical difficulties, but as usual, Audible made it up to me. Kudos to thrilling author Rachel Abbott and excellent narrator Rachel Atkins. Thank you for an exciting journey. Twists and turns galore.

Wait for it... the story gets complex and great!

The Sixth Window by Rachel Abbott took a few chapters for me to get into. However, once we got into the meat of this audiobook it wasn’t read to me quickly enough! Abbott’s dark and complex storylines completely pull me in and do not let me go until the last word. Just like the last book in this series, it feels as if there’s two parallel storylines going on and you know, you just can feel it, that these storylines are going to eventually ram right into each other. They do… just when Miss Abbott gets to some major climax area they collide and the listener is left scratching their heads and scrambling around a bit to put all the pieces together.

The narrator, Rachel Atkins, was fantastic. There were several characters in The Sixth Window and the one narrator did an incredibly thorough job portraying each character with a personal feel to each of them. Atkins’ voice and tone are strong and very pleasant to listen to. She still had an enjoyable British accent but it isn’t as strong as most are. I really love British accents in all levels.

Another Brilliant Crime Thriller by Rachel Abbott

Another complex case for Tom and Becky to crack related to child / adolescent pornography. A disturbing, but not explicit, look at how young girls are lured, seduced and tricked by unscrupulous adults.
The audio version by Rachel Atkins really brought the story to life.

VERY GOOD!

I live in the Bay Area and spend 3-4 hours every day in my car stuck in traffic . Listening to audio book helps and keeps me from falling asleep behind the wheel. Not a chance with this book and I could not stop listening!
The book is very good and I am definitely going to check out what else this author has written

Entertaining

Kept me guessing from start to finish. So many twists and turns , one minute I'm sure I know the bad guys and the next I'm doubting myself. Thoroughly enjoyable read and loved the narration too.

I think This One Even Tops the Prior Ones!

This is another winner from Rachel Abbott. She delicately weaves the many parallel storylines that eventually intersect in perfectly crafted treachery, deceit, sinister human behavior, and human fragility, with cleaver interconnectedness of the characters and plot. I love the way she cliff hangs chapters and only drops little crumbs leaving you hungry for more; and so you must listen on. Even when it ends, more crumbs are falling causing you to wonder... I’ve noticed in the last couple books that Ms. Abbott keeps something on the table leaving you with psychological and emotional questions without her cleaning it all up. She is very good at her craft; leaving a cloud of mystery even when it’s over.
The narrator Rachel Atkins does a great job at the many voices and characters, making each distinct and easy to follow. All voices were enjoyable to listen to, and the mood and inflection were nicely conveyed.
Great job to both Rachels!! Highly recommend!

Loved this book! The plot never faltered and I never had a clue which way it would turn next. Definitely found the ending a surprise...and surprise, again.

Very good book

Really enjoyed this book in an ongoing series. I am glad they have an ending after each book but carry on the main characters.

Well...

It was a great story… But a few more chapters with detail about Ed getting busted out for killing Bernie… And what exactly his role was would’ve been fabulous. Otherwise, loved it!

Spannend, aber...

Die Sprecherin hat mir gut gefallen. Die Geschichte war spannend, aber das Ende fand ich enttäuschend. Trotzdem empfehlenswert
