Description

There is a huge, bold black streak in the sky. Branches appear out of nowhere over North America, Southern Europe, and Central Africa. People who live beneath The Rift can see it. But scientists worldwide are distressed - their equipment cannot pick up any type of signal from it. The rift appears to consist of nothing. Literally. Nothing. Nada. Niente. Most people are curious but not overly concerned. The phenomenon seems to pose no danger. It is just there.

Then something jolts the most hardened naysayers, and surpasses the worst nightmares of the world's greatest scientists - and rocks their understanding of the universe.

What in the world just happened to my brain

I have no idea where in the heck this title came from I must've just happened to hop on audible at the right time because I have never seen this title and it absolutely blew me away. I am a big science fiction nerd and I love when writers/authors have clearly thought out the science with a well crafted plot.

The way this story is laid out is really spectacular I found myself constantly wanting to listen to more I practically finished the book overnight. And the way it ended! Like WHAT?! New favorite audiobook right here taking over a dear place in my heart - Bobiverse. Which if you liked those books you will love this book by the way. Any true sci fi fans will want to listen to this a second time right after you are done.

I bought this book with my own hard earned money and it was well worth it. Love it, love it, looove it.

Update: Listening to this now again for second time. Someone said it's predictable but it's more like, "I hope this happens.." a few times and then it does and you're so happy because he maintains very sound science throughout the book without turning it into totally crazy theories in an attempt to awe people or be 100% unique. If you're a true sci-fi fan and like to really consider the nature of our universe and matter itself - this book is right up your alley. If you're looking for listen-and-forget-spaceships-shooting-lasers stories then this book may not be for you.

REAL Science.... finally

Thank you, thank you, thank you.... Finally a science fiction story with some actual science in it!
In this age of fantasy science fiction where authors know more about dragons, sorcerers and zombies then they do about the electricity that powers the computer they are writing their drivel on it is a real pleasure to listen to a clear and concise story similar to writings from the Golden Age of Science Fiction. A modern story that Issac Asimov, Ray Bradbury, Fredric Brown, etc. would be happy to call their own.
We need more authors like Brandon Morris.
And thank you Daniel May for a fantastic narration (smile).

interesting concept

Interesting concept, not amazingly executed, still worth the read I suppose. Was captivated for the most part, but I feel like it was too predictable at some points.
