These stories are taken from the original black-and-white Ivor the Engine television series, first broadcast between 1959 and 1962.
Preserved from the original recordings, the audio reflects the production methods of the time and includes some natural variation in sound quality.
This is part of the character and authenticity of these early episodes, offering a rare opportunity to hear Ivor and his world as they were first experienced.
In The Retreat, the dragons disappear just as the Antiquarian Society arrives, leaving Ivor and Jones with an awkward mystery to solve. It is a comic dragon mystery full of suspense and Smallfilms charm.
